Updated DK build for Thieve's guild patch

Gear wise this works pretty well in duels, and it's easy to swap out with another monster set, or fill in the magnus pieces. Tell me what you think !

    I have a few questions.
    1. Why run invigorating drain instead of a gap closer like shielded charge/invasion or empowering chains.?
    2. Why double S&B instead of S&B/Resto with healing ward in place of Coag blood?

    Could it just be different play style that I am missing or is this a small group setup or a 1v1 setup.

    I was stamina until about a month before the TG update. Started making the switch over due to the stamina nerf and magicka buffs. Honestly I like magicka a lot better

    1.Invigorating drain gives me the vamp passive regen, and also boost ulti reg while costing magicka. Empowering chains would be good if it had a stun, if I used it I would have to slot another CC, so that's 2 slots for what most people do with one. Invasion costs stamina, and stam drains even faster in this patch it seems so that wouldn't really work out.

    2. Just so I can block more, and healing ward is nice but not a 100% guarantee to heal you when you have allies around, and blessing of resto doesn't heal as much as deep breath when outnumbered. If you are looking into duelling more than open field, resto staff could work, altough you are already getting nice heals with power lash, burning embers, entropy and deep breath.

    It's a small group setup, 3-4 man mostly, usually with someone spaming vigor or healing ward already

    1. That makes a lot of sense. Invigorating Drain seems like a legit contender for me to use. I currently use shielded charge but if the new patch drains Stam like you say I will have to consider a swap.
    2. This also makes sense, I do find that healing ward can be unreliable when I'm in a big group like a zerg. I don't think I'm convinced enough to give up my resto staff just yet though.

    Overall. Good build and post.

    My current setup is...

    -S&B
    Flame Lash
    Shielded Charge (gonna look in invigorating drain)
    Burning Talons
    Draw Essence
    Burning embers
    U- Devouring swarm

    -Resto staff
    Volatile Armor
    Healing Ward
    Harness Magicka (until scales is fixed)
    Igneous shield (only at rank 7 assault or I would drop for proxy det)
    Structured Entropy
    U- Shooting star

    5L/2H
    5 julianos - chest/hand/waist/leg/feet
    2/3 seducer - helm/shoulder/Resto staff
    2 torugs pact - sword/shield

    Traits are infused on chest/legs, impenetrable on everything else with nirnhoned sword and resto staff.

    3 willpower arcane
    -2 spell damage glyph
    -1 reduce spell cost glyph

    Mundus stone: thief

    Seems to work pretty good pre-patch. I'm one Xbox one Na DC. So I guess I'll find out tomorrow how it fairs in TG.

    I've gone back and forth with Skoria and Blood Spawn, the damage from Skoria is nice and it seems to proc quite often but with drain and Bloodspawn you can pump out ultimates like crazy.

    Just keep in mind with EG you are relying on chance, when you desperately need stam you may get a health proc as an example. Now there are things you can do like if you are out of stam and get a magicka proc start spamming and earthen heart ability for the stam return but I tend to prefer removing the rng from combat when ever possible, thats just my playstyle though.

    I agree completely with this, I don't want my ressource sustain to be based off rng. I would definitely try out bloodspawn if I could get my hands on it

    Yeah I can't make up my mind, in both solo and group play they are both amazing sets, I'm leaning towards bloodspawn atm, with the proc im running like 32k spell resist in 5 light with no nirn.

    DK does have a gap closer now, its *** but it is a gap closer, and I think you mean update 6, DK's were still master race in 1.5

    Mmm like 4 to 5k in cyrodiilconsistently, but it's the combo of other skills accompanying it; burning talons, proxy det, deep breath, burning embers. These are all skills you cast once or twice in a fight while weaving attacks with flame lash. Basically I hit proxy det, shield charge in, apply burning embers, hit deep breath, apply talons, then medium weave, hit deep breath, hit talons again, medium weave. Then as needed swap to resto staff throw on a healing ward, reflect as needed. The thing that makes the build so good is that anytime you take damage you can spam burning embers and it practically heals you to full... The new mechanics of it are really good and I can see it being nerfed at some point in time. It only costs me 700 magicka...

    @Etaniel 1 question with invigorating drain. The tooltip state you gain x ultimate per second while the drain is active. Does this mean that of you animation cancel it the drain/ultimate stops?

    Of so it's really a useless skill imo. Trying to for it in my stam dk build for more ult Regan but if I can't animation cancel it so I can use another move instead of sitting there like a regard with my hand out for 3 seconds.

    Thanks for build though, will try on my mag dk once I level him and get skoria.
