Instances are a God forsaken NIGHTMARE

So I am doing the main questline in the Harborage. I spend 15 minutes busting Lyris out and the game client crashes. If you're logged out in an instance, you get kicked out and have to restart it. What a joke. Can't you work on fixing this? It's ridiculous to have to spend another 20 minutes catching up when you just did that. :|

You should have been around for the full game rewinds. Was great. Entire server would get kicked out and everyone would find themselves back to where they were half hour before hand. To do all of the content over again. Not only did this happen once or twice, but several times.

Hey, sorry for your troubles, but I think you're in the minority with this problem. Just gonna throw this out there because I experienced a crashing problem awhile back when I was running win 8.1 with 32-bit. I would crash about every 15 mins. When I changed my OS to 64-bit no more problems. Also are you launching the client under the newer 64-bit or the 32 bit? The 32 bit is the original and more stable, so try that also. Good luck!

OP, I share your pain. I know what it's like. But think of it like this. It's a safety to keep your char from being killed due to respawns.
At least, that's how I see it. As for your crashing, perhaps listing your specs and any crash logs could help to pinpoint the problem?

That shouldn't happen; if you log back in within fifteen minutes you're supposed to be in the same place; you should only get kicked out of the instance if you are logged out for more than fifteen minutes. (Unless they changed it.)

My understanding is that the "I just lost X minutes of questing and got rewound" issue is, at its core, a failure of the server to save a character state -- or a more recent state becoming corrupt in memory/storage, and rolling back to an earlier valid save so as not to lose the entire character. Hardware stress, in short.

The client crashing out shouldn't have any effect on that, but Enodoc is right, if you log back in soon enough you should remain in the same instance. I had a couple of friends now who helped Lyris reclaim her weapon only to have her stare dumbly at it until they relogged. In both cases, they returned to the same instance, but they also came back pretty quick.

Was there any kind of significant delay between your crash and your login?
