How much experience gained goes towards a skill line? I'm getting odd numbers

So I've been doing some minor testing with this and noticed that numbers are a little off.
-Wearing a purple two handed weapon with training trait (126% XP increase towards skill line)
~With no skill line abiltiies slotted~
I have 2427 experience in the Two Handed skill line.
I get 50 kill experience.
Two Handed skill line experience rises to 2472. That's +45 experience.
And then I get 30% increase to that 90% experience for each ability I slot from that skill line.
I always supposed you got 100% of the experience you gained towards skill lines. Am I wrong?
