So, on PS4 the dlc releases in a few days and it will cost crowns (obviously) unless you have ESO plus. This week, ZOS says that mount upgrades from the crown store are 50% off. If you take the offer then you will need to buy more crowns for the dlc. They're really trying to squeeze the money out of they're players aren't they? Would you buy the upgrades knowing that you will need crowns to get the dlc?

I think you're making the mistake of assuming everyone is in the same situation as you - wanting to buy both the DLC and riding upgrades but only having enough crowns for one and no money to buy more right now. In reality these two things coming out together will affect everyone differently based on their personal circumstances. Some people will only want one or the other, some will not want either, some will have enough crowns/cash for both and so on.

But even if you can't get both I really don't think it's fair to accuse ZOS of stealing your crowns because they're offering you the chance to buy more than one thing with them. That's pretty much the opposite of theft.

(Also if I was in your situation I'd buy the riding lessons now because they're only on sale for a short time, and get the DLC later because it's not going anywhere and highly unlikely to get more expensive than it is now.)

well, WAS ESO+. Cancelled my sub after TG DLC. It doesn't offer even $5 worth of content, let alone $20(Or the $15 I was spending for sub). I really enjoyed Orsinium, and felt the content was well worth the cost. IC was developed for ganking, but I still managed to enjoy it by questing/exploring during off-peak hours when no one was there. I have exhausted the content from both, and was very anxious for TG. On paper, it sounded amazing. Upon release, I quickly discovered it was not. All in all, if you want the DLC content, the best way to go is always to sub. You pay less, get more, and still have the crowns to buy mounts/pets/etc, or just to secure access to the DLCs that you want to still play after cancelling your sub.

I voted no even though I'm ESO+ because this screams entitlement and a lack of understanding of how a business works. Try opening a small business and come back to this thread in a year. You'll have a good laugh. /smgdh

You're incorrectly assuming that everyone else has the same number of crowns and motives for those crowns as you.

Furthermore, ZOS are a business. They're not forcing you to buy the mount upgrades - a sale is simply an incentive.

Considering I have maxed riding skills on all my characters (at least my main account anyway, I have multiple for RP characters) I just ignore the crown riding skills since even if I wanted to rank up on my alt accounts I'm patient enough to just pay the 250 per character daily. This on top of the fact I have ESO+ makes this a non-issue for me and looks like you're just finding a reason to complain. Note that the DLC is a better value than just buying your way through riding skills so I don't see how you have such a dilemma here anyway.

Though I don't see the point of this thread (because people spend on whatever they want and can... I mean, you could ask the same about costumes or mounts, why is the riding training your issue?) I'll play your game.

Supposing that I think like that (which I don't) I'd say "well, I'd obviously save for the DLC because if I'm still playing by then, I'll probably max out my mount with the daily training anyway".

I leveled 6 character's riding skills the old fashioned way, logging in with each once a day for a few months. Still, always appreciate sales, as it does occasionally cover something I want.
