Where do I even begin?
I love my Orc DK. It is the only character I have ever played (since beta). It's my playstyle. It is who I am. I will always play a stamina DK no matter what the current flavor of the month is. If you have never DK Dunked a peasant, you have not lived yet!
Take Flight is by far the most epic ultimate in the game. Jumping into keeps or bombing a zerg is so satisfying sometimes I have to walk away and change my loincloth.
Take Flight is more than an ultimate, it is a status of how Pain Train you are at PvP. It is the bread and butter of a stamina DK. The low cost, the range and the burst gives a stamina DK a quick return on resources to sustain itself in all scales of PvP.
The Problems:- Hit Ultimate - Nothing Happens.
- Hit Ultimate - Missfires, costing ultimate and nothing happens
- Hit Ultimate - Peter Pan Wings Fly out of your Feet - Only positive is you can roleplay as a four winged DK with reflective scales (Thanks for that ZOS).
Regarding this last point, I cannot tell you how many times I have heard a developer say directly to me in stream or on podcast that this was fixed over the last two years. Own up to your faults and take control of the situation. If the ability doesn't work as intended, they say it. Don't lie to us.
- Hit Ultimate - Land on a Target, they take no damage.
- Hit Ultimate - Land on a Target, they dodge roll inside of the AoE. Take no damage or knockback.
- Hit Ultimate - Target Streaks away, takes damage but no knockback (even without immovable or blocking)
- Hit Ultimate - Target Cloaks, takes no damage or knockback but is still inside the radius of the AoE.
- Hit Ultimate - Target Passively Evades with shuffle, taking no damage or knockback while still inside the AoE.
- Hit Ultimate (Mid-Air) - Feared by NB underneath causing DK to stand running in place at point of impact.
For the last several months, I have been keeping track of how many Take Flights actually land and could be considered "working as intended." The succesful land rate I calculated is 11.7% (this is from recording over 2,560 Take Flights). This is an unacceptable success rate for an ultimate ability, especially one as vital as Take Flight for a stamina DK.
The Solutions:- *Make Take Flight a true AoE* <-- This ZOS. This is all you need to do.
What do I mean by this? If you can make an ultimate like meteor unreflectable, which I'm ok with, why not make Take Flight undodgeable? Now I am not saying unblockable, this is different. From my understanding, if you are sitting inside of the area of effect in an AOE, you should take some kind of effect.
- Make Take Flight an area cast with diminishing damage. The further from the point of impact, the less damage a target takes. This builds off of the previous point.
- Increase the damage of Take Flight similar to the increase in damage for Critical Charge. If I hit you with a Take Flight from Maximum Range, the Damage should be more than an upclose Take Flight.
- Increase the radius of the AoE. (self-explanatory)
- Hit Ultimate - Give DK Immunity to All effects until the animation is over at the point of impact. I want to be clear that this is not a buff given after the Take Flight lands but only gives protection while flying through the air towards the intended target.
The main take away here is when I cast my ultimate I want it to do SOMETHING. If they block it, so be it. But I don't believe having an ultimate do absolutely nothing on a target is working as intended. If you are inside the radius of the point of impact, regardless if you are the intended target for the Take Flight, some effect should be felt.

Hit Ultimate - Take Flight Damage Increases as more ultimate is stored on the DK. 1000 ultimate cost Take Flight should get you into the 20k club or atleast one shot an outpost.
Yes corrosive armor is another option. But let's be real. We all would rather dunk then become a glorified punching bag.
Last Note:
Aoe Caps - Remove them. Seriously, remove them. How many players who have been with the game since the beginning need to scream this point. We know PvP. We love PvP. We live in PvP. Remove AoE Caps. (I really just wanna have a 20 person Dunk, but can you blame me?)
Playing my stamina DK over the past two years has been a true roller coaster ride. Each new patch provides a new challenge to adjust my stamina DK but with the current state of stamina builds and how limp and gimp Take Flight is becoming, I felt that this post was absolutely neccesary.
I will never stop playing my stamina DK. You cannot make me! I am not going anywhere, I am here for the long haul ZOS.
