Kvatch Arena

So, first, this is my first post on the forums. Hello, people. Second, the other day I was thinking about it and remembered that Kvatch had a gladiator arena. What do you guys think about ZOS sneaking in another type of arena perhaps? Personally, I'm pretty stoked to get more information on DB, even though I've yet to get TG since I'm on Xbone. Anyway, excited to get some people's thoughts. Thanks

Pretty sure Kvatch is in the Dark Bro DLC. Seen it from Matt Firor mouth somewhere.

MF: Yes, Tamriel is a huge continent, and while we have a lot of it covered so far, there’s still plenty to explore in future DLC. We’ve already publically talked about the next two DLCs: Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood. Thieves Guild takes place in a part of Hammerfell that you haven’t yet seen in ESO, and Dark Brotherhood will be set in the area around Anvil and Kvatch in western Cyrodiil (which is not part of the PvP Cyrodiil). After that, you’ll have to stay tuned!

That's my point. Kvatch has an arena and we'll be able to go there. Just wanting to get some opinions on if the arena will make an appearance in some form or fashion

I'm surprised I forgot about this from my 1000+ hrs in Oblivion. ZOS would be crazy not to capitalize on this. Perfect opportunity for a 4-man or 2-man arena. Heck, even a 12-man!

In imperial city arena district literally just need to make a durlling zone hold interact challange to duel and only those two players can fight. Thats all

@Doncellius Thanks! I completely agree. As far as I know, the Kvatch arena was the only other arena besides the Imperial City in Cyrodiil, so this could be their only chance for adding an "organic" arena. Definitely can't wait to check out Kvatch un-rekt either way

@Destyran you right, but I don't think they'll ever do that because of the way the districts already function. I think they'll add the district objectives, but not much more than that

I'm also hoping they're gonna surprise us with removing aoe caps. I'll really start subbing for the game when they put pvp arenas and remove aoe caps foe sure.

@MrGigglypants well apparently what is known from the lore, it was a gladiator arena. So, best case scenario, it's a 10/10 pvp/duel/battleground arena. Worst case? They don't even mention it. I guess we'll find out when they start releasing dem details

Pretty much they will never release true competitive pvp. It would result in a longterm loss of money because half of the population has little interest in pve so why buy new DLC's if their not epic.

@MrGigglypants I think if they added structured pvp, it'd bring in quite a few new players and might even bring back players who have left. It could, COULD, at the very least give an alternative to the pve-ers who find Cyrodiil intimidating and overwhelming. I was the same way when all i played was guild wars 2. I played the structured pvp because I didn't wanna learn the world vs world pvp and it kept me around for quite a while

@MrGigglypants I didn't even think of that! Back in Oblivion, you were pitted against different opponents and situations. There was a Blue Team and a Yellow Team. It would not be surprising if Kvatch in ESO held the same type of arena games as the Imperial City Arena did in Oblivion. Had to move it somewhere when the city burned down!

It would be fantastic if there could be something like a group finder (enterable with your group as well) that puts you in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or whatever other scenario ZOS could create. It asks you to join when everything is ready within 60 seconds like group dungeons do. I can already imagine the popularity/balance issues this game would achieve. A remarkable amount to be sure.

I just watched the ESO Live from 3/25 - it's pretty obvious that there will NOT be a PvP arena in Dark Brotherhood. If they do put in an arena in Kvatch, it will certainly be some garbage PvE minigame.

For reference, they touched on it briefly around the 40 minute mark.

While pvp arenas/battlegrounds are coming they wont be coming with dark brotherhood. Kvatch and the gold coast are not in cyrodill pvp zone.

All I can say is if ZOS adds an arena in Kvatch and it isn't a PvP arena, I will likely rage and scream before crying in a corner at the loss of what could have been something beautiful.

Its going to be a PVE zone. They dont do PVP in PVE zones. Basically my guess its going to be just like hews bane. Gold coast if you look on the eso map is pretty small. Id guess we will see three dlcs a year like hews bane and then one like wrothgar. I believe the pvp arenas will be in the imperial city. I dont know tho anything yet other than they are going to be happening and are in active development.

Well, revitalizing this bad boy. So, they're not doing what I'd hoped for, but at least we get some kind of interaction with the arena
