[Guide] The Mundus Stone Exploit and how it works

Yes, this Post is about the Mundus Stone Exploit but i want post how it works. Not yet.

There is a huge gamebreaking Bug in this Game that Zenimax is aware of but decided to dont fix asap or wasnt able to fix. A Bug with that you can get as much Mundus Stones as you want, without using Twice Born Star or more as 2 Mundus Stones if you use this Set.
There were and are a lot of Players in the Rankings from which we (an Zenimax to) knows that they use this Exploit to get multiple Mundus Stones but nothing happens with them. No Fix, no Ban, nothing.

Zenimax promised that they will fix the Exploit short after TG goes Live and they will reset the Leaderboards after the Fix. What we have now is a Reset of the Leaderboards without fixing the Exploit and the old Cheaters can still dominate the Leaderboards and maybe stand there for a long Time until CP Capraises will equal the Power of the Exploit or Zenimax is reseting the Leaderboards again.

Do we have, for the Spirit of Fairness, to publish a detailed Guide about the Exploit so everyone has the Chance to beat the Cheaters on the Leaderboards with equal Weapons or do you plan the reset the Leaderboards again right after the Fix in the next Patch. Whenever that Patch will come.

I've long believed exploits should be fully disclosed publicly to force ZOS' hand in fixing them. The hush-hush policy servers nobody but the exploiters. However, this IS their game and their forum, so we have to play by their rules.

Even IF you publish it...it won't be fair, bc not everyone can use this exploit afaik...

But anyways...best solution would be to fix it and reset the leaderboards again...

I'd say release to public, even the playing field... Not telling everyone just benefits the exploiters there are now...

This should get fixed ASAP and I'd definately say the leaderboards need a reset too. This stuff shouldn't even be bugged, all people who do play fair are gonna be the victim of exploiters again *sigh*

Its not that i wanna publish it or i want an advantage from it. I hate Cheating and i hate Cheaters and i will never use this or another Bug.
But if i publish it, i will get a Ban from the Forums and maybe from the Game to. If i use the Exploit for my own Advantage and write i Ticket with "i got to many Mundus Stones by Accident" i wont get a Ban and can keep the Mundus Stones.
Its an unfair Advantage for Cheaters and the honest Player get rekt just for telling the Truth.

We still intend on fixing this issue, and posting a guide will not get a fix published any faster (if anything, it'll earn you a short vacation from the forums). There are currently a few fixes for this being tested, and you should expect to see it in an upcoming incremental patch.

Id say find someone to post it for you then. You know as well as anyone that until it is common knowledge and most players are using the bug nothing will be done about it

Good thing you guys are working to fix the problem. Just wondering, will the leaderboards be reset too? It would seem fair...

I couldn't agree with you more on this. I created a post back on the PTS about this exploit and also sent information to @ZOS about how to do it. To date, we have yet to get a response back other than "were looking at it".....

@ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_RichLambert, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom would someone be able to comment on where the fix is at for this bug?

I agree that publishing the way to exploit mundus stones is a perfect solution to force ZOS to fix it ASAP. Or get a guy with a popular name to report it.

But I'd say please don't, at least not yet. There are guilds currently working hard on completing the new trial (Maw of Lorkhaj) which is an absolute fantastic challenge to us "Hardcore Raiders". Showing such bugs might lure some individuals from these guilds to use it in which case will not make clearing this trial as much challenging as it is right now (aside from bugs and crashes)

I know that you are aware about the Exploit and you are working on a Fix. What is pissing me of is the Promise that you will reset the Leaderbords AFTER the Fix but you reset it before and we still didnt get an Answer to the Point if you will reset the Leaderboards again after the Fix.

You mean the animation cancelling that they said was NOT an exploit and had no intention of 'fixing'? Is that the one you mean?

We are working hard to get better and maybe being a Competitor for you and your Guild in the Leaderboards. But we wanna make it possible by improving ourself and not with using Bugs and Exploits.
But some dont have that sportive Spirit and are doing everything for Fame, even if they need to use Exploit.

Back in 1.6 more or less everyone (who is more engaged into the game) knew how to get a second mundus stone. Did they fix it immediately? No, ZoS waited till 1.7 to fix it and even then they didn't do it properly.

Don't get your hopes high.

It did not take much effort to find how this exploit works but besides that it seems against the TOS to use, it would overpower me in a way I no longer could enjoy my PvE experience ...

Awesome, thank you for the update.

Is there a way to remove people from the leaderboards who have been reported for using this exploit? It clearly has given them an advantage and they shouldn't be worthy of a reward for cheating.

What would really be awesome is if before sending any emailed rewards that there was a code check to see how many active mundus buffs a person has and if it's greater than 2(With 5 Twice Born Active) that they are sent an email stating that they aren't worthy of rewards due to excess Mundus Buffs and will continue to NOT receive Rewards while that is active.
