I've found that updating my nvidia drivers and using nvidia optimization keeps the game running most smooth for me. The only thing I change is fullscreen to fullscreen(windowed). This seems to eliminate the sound problems and pink textures.

I assume you're referring to the 64 bit version, which I don't personally have a need for. You might want to clarify which drivers you're using.

I am running 32 bit eso still. I ran 64 bit eso and didnt like it. Felt too sluggish. I just use the updated drivers when i open nvidia program

Updating Nvidia drivers feel like Russian roulette; it might work or you might end up with a broken computer that needs hours of tinkering to function again.

I'm also curious to know which Nvidia driver is working for the 64 bit client, Win 10 and the 980 card. I haven't updated my driver in many months and every time I peek at the Nvidia forums, I'm afraid to update my driver and break something.

I never update my drivers until things start acting wonky. I have always gone by the philosophy that, "if it isn't broken, don't fix it." I've learned the hard way that updating drivers can make things worse, and also, always do a complete CLEAN uninstall and install of new drivers- NEVER simply install over existing ones. ;)

Yeah 364.51 should be the latest WHQL drivers for Nvidia, though I recommend that people install new device drivers while having the a set of drivers in the background just in case something goes wrong. I installed some Nvidia driver ones that messed up everything, luckily for me, I didn't do a clean install so I was able to roll back to a previous version, which saved a ton of work for me.

Just be careful, even though it's WHQL signed doesn't mean it's good.

I don't want to miss out on optimizations for a new release I will never buy.

Haven't had major issues using Nvidia SLI , I don't upgrade drivers immediately ever , and don't use the GeForce Experience garbage as I prefer to control my own settings and never want anything auto-updating for me.

TESO was working well with the 3/1/2016 NVidia driver for my GeForce GTX 660ti card. I skipped the "bad" update, then installed the next version that was supposed to have corrected its problems. The game's response to keyboard & mouse then slowed so severely that the game was unplayable. Reverting to the previous driver solved that problem. I installed the 3/28/16 driver, thinking the bugs may have been corrected. TESO would work normally the first time I would play it each day; but if I exited and started again later, it would slow to a crawl again. I have again reverted to the 362.00 driver, which seems to be working well. I suppose I'll stick with that version and ignore the updates unless someone can suggest another solution. I tried a few other games while I had the problematic driver installed and saw the same severe slowing effect.

I run my game the same way OP. Doesn't matter if it's 32 or 64. If your in a big battle in cyrodiil, it happens jsut the same. No sound for a minute or 2 then it comes back. Windowed mode does nothing for that. =/
