The static sounds are worse after the new patch- and much louder. It makes it almost unplayable.

Are you playing on the 32 or 64 bit client?

Go back to the 32 bit, its sound behaves. The 64 bit was good just after launch, but after the two patches last week it is unplayable due to the random noises and sounds and music.

I was hoping they were going to fix it, but alas, no work in that area this patch today.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

If you look at the patch notes, there was nothing addressing the audio issues at all and nothing about the crash issues with the 64bit client either. Guess ZOS feels they were not important to address or cannot figure out the problem. But as usual they were fast to fix an exploit.

There's an entire thread about the 64 bit sound problems in this General forums, and Zos is rather well represented there, answering and taking notes, so they're both aware of the 64 bit issues and are working to improve it.

Do you guys remember CD's? It reminds me of way back in the day ripping a CD and getting a bad mp3 file because your tried do something else on your computer at the time and hit max CPU limit. They mentioned doing an optimization pass of some of the audio files to limit CPU overhead. It sounds like something went wrong.

Anyways, welcome to ESO GrumpStump. Your name looks familiar from the Firefall forums, another refugee?

Yep. The one and only (lol). Won't go back until they get things fixed- probably never...

And thanks. I'm here to stay for quite awhile.
