Cadwells Silver and Gold

So a lot of people in my guild and even some in area chat are saying that with the new dlc that once you get to vet 1 it is going to open up all areas so no need to actually do the cadwells after the 22nd (console) but iv searched and cant seem to find this info, is it true as there is ALOT of people now talking about it

You will still do it but you can now go to any vet area you want instead of on the rails it now.

Pretty much this. There is no requirement to do Cadwell's Silver in order to unlock the Gold zones. You don't have to go through the Silver or Gold questlines at all if you don't want to (although of course you'll miss out on a bunch of skill points and XP if you don't), and you'll still be able to go to any zone when you're VR1 or higher.

I can totally see why they did it with the TG update too, as that way they can send you to go pick pockets and crack strongboxes all over Tamriel without having to have a check in place to make sure you've completed Cadwell's Silver before it sends you to a zone that would be a Gold zone for you.

I assume that if you're not VR1 yet then TG quests will only send you to your home alliance zones...

One change I do wish they'd make is not forcing the Cadwell's quest on you at the end of the main quest. I'd love to have this new freedom to explore without "Experience <other alliance>" sitting in my journal for ever more until I finally cave just to clear it.

I have many vet 16 characters and currently leveling up another thats at vet 3 but Id like to be able to take it to all areas and then quest when I want to I kinda do a few hours questing few hours grinding and then some pvp or just helping friends out so it will be good to be able to go everywhere without being forced to quest

This change is very good for you then

Actually, I don't see any way this change could be bad for anyone... It's pretty much a win-win situation.

So I just got to Cadwell silver last night after finally beating Coldharbour.

I'm already burnt out with zone questing - I hope they implement something in future if you already beat the content once you don't have to drag an alt through the same static content just to get skillpoints from the quests.

How many vet levels did everyone get when completing silver and gold?

Uhm....I don't think that is correct.

I believe the change is that at VR1, a player doesn't have to complete the main story to enter silver BUT they would choose the faction and not be forced to go to the same order as prior. I do not believe this has removed the requirement to complete silver first in order to access gold. I didn't finish PTS the last few weeks so it wasn't live but that is how I read and understood it.

Nope. Since the TG patch I've been hopping around through all of the Silver & Gold zones on my characters who aren't even halfway done with the Silver quests.

The zones stay scaled the same way based on what alliance you're in (so if you're AD then your EP zones will be VR1-VR5 and the DC zones will be VR6-VR10 regardless of the order youd ecide to do them in).

Well I'm actually V7 and about halfway through silver. I did all side quests that I could find and I try to do writs everyday and 1 pledge dungeon every 2 days since level 45.

If you like to take your time exploring and enjoying the storytelling, quests are a good way to level up your char. I also have nearly all the gold thingies needed to make gold stuff at V16, all inventory upgrades and a decent ammount of gold.

Umm,..if you dont want to drag an alt through it all again,why would you even create one then? Not being snarky,just asking.What's the point to creating an alt if not to play the game?

Umm,..if you dont want to drag an alt through it all again,why would you even create one then? Not being snarky,just asking.What's the point to creating an alt if not to play the game?

I'm not the person you asked the question of but as someone who has ALL her character slots used for characters I actually play... trust me, after about character number 3 you never want to see a lot of those quests again, especially the ones you pretty much HAVE to do, like the Main Story, Mage and Fighters Guild quests. There needs to be alternative ways to level characters, new content, in order to keep things fresh.

Agreed. There's already a tracker for this under Cadwell's Almanac, so as soon as you enter the zones to "Experience" the other alliance, the journal entry could just disappear. Then it would pop back up again to direct you to turn the quest in at the end, if and when you actually complete all the Almanac objectives.
