How do you use the Crown Store?

I have lots of crowns on my account, I am logged in to the ESO websaite, but when I go to the crown store and click on the item in the crown store it takes me to a link to buy more crowns.

If it's supposed to be done in-game I also can't figure out how to use them.

How do I spend crowns?

Thanks I'll try to figure out the in-game store next time I play.

Maybe the website "CROWN STORE" should be re-named to something less confusing? It's more of a "Display of what you can buy in the In-game Crown Store"

Here's what I do, playing on PC without Steam.

    Buying Crowns
    1) Go to ESO website and click the Account link at the top of the page. (Usually I go to the forum because I have that bookmarked.)
    2) Log in
    3) Go to Store
    4) Choose a crown pack
    5) Click buy now and go through the steps (there are full instructions for this part so I won't repeat them all)
    6) Wait for them to show up on my account, it's usually almost instant but sometimes take a while to process

    Spending Crowns

    1) Log in to ESO
    2) Log into a character
    3) Open the crown store
    4) Choose an item to buy
    5) With the mouse over the item press E (or whatever key you've bound this option to, it will tell you in the bottom right corner of the screen)
    6) Press E again or click 'confirm' in the window that pops up

As far as I know there is no way to buy crown store items outside the game.

You can only buy Crown Store items in-game. To open the Crown Store, find the icon in the menu that looks a bit like this: ON-icon-store-Crowns.png

OP you have to be in the game, but your question actually comes down to something I have discussed with friends & guildies...

They should allow a feature for players to buy stuff directly from the website, as it is sometimes not possible to log in ( game could be corrupted, pc could have formatted and downloading 40GB + might take days for some people ect. )

Now say this happens over Halloween or some other limited time event and you miss out on a mount, even though you had the crowns and wanted to buy it. Allowing people the function to make purchases from the website itself will be a fantastic feature.

(The Halloween thing actually happened to me, I had 7k crowns and could not buy my zombie horse cause my game was corrupted and could not repair)

To implement this there would have to be a fundamental change to how the Crown Store functions, since currently, Crown Store purchases are attached to your details stored on the server database, not to your details stored in the Account System database. (This is also why Crown Store purchases are all server-bound.) To make a purchase, you need to log into the server rather than the Account System, and you can't log into the server from the website.

IMO They should probably call the not in-game "Crown Store" something different, since you can't actually buy anything there.

And of course fix the storeFAQ link at the bottom of the store page. I get just a white page on IE, Firefox and Edge

It used to be possible to buy the Imperial Edition upgrade and the Palomino Horse through the website and have them added to your account directly (as in you weren't emailed a code to put in or anything) so they could presumably do it that way.

I would like to have this feature too. I'm often away from home for days at a time either working or visiting family and have no way to log in to the game during that time, so there's a very high chance I'll miss out on some of the limited time items even though I have the money and I'm willing to spend it.

Maybe "Crown Store Preview" or something? They should also mention that you need to be in-game to actually buy stuff.

Yeah that link doesn't work for me either.

Yeah, I did that myself. And since they were purchased through the Account System, they were account-wide rather than server-bound back then. That means I have them on both severs, while anyone who bought them since the Crown Store was introduced would only have them on one (although for pretty much the same price), which isn't fair at all.

Crown Store purchases in-game should be tied to Account rather than Server, and then they could easily put the items on sale on the website as well.
