ESO - Great for dealing with Insomnia?

Are you playing ESO, and finding yourself dozing, even before your usual bedtime?

Quite a few of my friends are telling me that they play ESO to help them sleep. I've even been in a few dungeons with a team and heard people snoring over the mic. I, too - as badly as I want to play - find myself waking up to the sound of being whacked upon by a horde of enemies - I unexpectedly fell asleep around during a mission - only to groggily scramble with the controller to try and save myself from death.

Is the game's monotony starting to take unflattering affect, to the point of inevitable boredom? Or is it some other unrelated exhaustion due to real life? Many of my friends say, "It's the music that lulls [them] to sleep".

This probably wouldn't happen if we didn't have to do the same contents over and over again because kg RNGeez's shrine ZOS have in their lair

Not in ESO, but I have done that in World of Warcraft. The bad part is that we were in a raid with only 2 healers, and I was one of them. The raid leader was explaining the encounter to the new ones, I leaned back for a couple of seconds to "rest my eyes", next thing I heard a "where's the other healer?!?" on TeamSpeak.

Never heard the end of that one, used to have a roll call, sleep call and safety measure to make sure all healers were awake and operational before the raid encounter started

I'm dealing with insomnia (and because of it, with my other things also) for about 20 years now. Playing games for too long can help to get drowsy, but it does not help to get a good sleep, though. On the contrary, after being up for too long (let's say 20-40 hours, which is the case for me pretty often), the brain gets "stuck" in the game worlds and, IF you happen to finally fall asleep, it can cause you nightmares more often than not. I could tell you stories I have been through in dreams, you could make an entire new game with that amount of content lol

For me, the complete opposite. Gaming too close to bedtime, leads to me not being able to get to sleep.

Way back when, I played a lot of Morrowind on the Xbox. My older brother would come by, watch me play for a bit before the music and game in general put him to sleep. Every single time. He tried playing himself once, got out of Seyda Neen and fell asleep by Vassir Didanat mine, never to play again.

Now we play ESO together, and he'll still sometimes fall asleep, though luckily never during anything important. Usually more like we'll go to town after a quest to sell and bank stuff, and he'll have fallen asleep standing by a crafting table, or more frequently in the stables.
