So we know the grueling FPS issues were mostly fixed back to what they were during Orsinium. But now, since we are back, how about we tally our current specs and FPS in different locations, considering that even during Orsinium, the FPS was unacceptable.
i5 3570k @ 4.4GHZ, 2x GTX 670 in SLI, 1080p monitor on high settings, using 64-bit client (View distance=50, max particle systems = 768 [lowest it can be]:
~40-50 FPS in Rawlmart
~80+ Open world with NOTHING happening
~30-60 in dungeons (vCoA was horrendous the other day, hit mid 20s)
~30-40 FPS in vMA
~[] in PvP (Haven't been since TG hit, so unsure, but I used to run like 20 FPS there (sometimes only 1 FPS!)
As you can tell, this is UNACCEPTABLE. Given the recommended specs, I should be able to more than easily have max view distance and, well, max EVERYTHING. My guess is the low FPS is still tied to processing all the particles, both environment and player sourced.
We need much better optimization in the code, and better communication. I "assume" ZoS is currently working on more optimizations, but we NEED to be heavily kept in the loop. ZoS has low PR at the moment, so keeping us informed daily/weekly on developments would go a loooong way towards restoring faith.
I also suggest an up to date tally by ZoS about the current problems both in-game and imagined by players, and at least weekly it is updated by ZoS to at least show such issues are acknowledged. Doesn't matter if there are solutions or not, updates OFTEN are the key to restoring our faith in the Devs.
