Things feel a bit too static sometimes

I feel like, out in the world, things feel a bit to static sometimes and it feels weird how everything is perfectly positioned and not moving. To amend this, one day I would like to see an option to enable/disable physics for random things in the world. Examples of this could be certain things flapping in the wind like banners and what not in the world, ships rocking back and forth slightly in the water, waves gently pushing back and forth in the water, trees swaying a little bit and their leaves getting pushed around, etc. Just things to make the game feel a little more alive rather than statically placed around.

I agree to an extent, but I'm not bothered as much by how the outdoors feels, but moreso the cities and towns.

Cities and towns in this game feel pretty dead compared to other games like GW2 , and not even in the same league as witcher 3 (I know, single player game)

It would be nice if this game had some ambient city songs/noises and more lively npc's to make cities and towns more immersive. When I walk into a big city I want to feel like I am in a big city, but every NPC seems to be so damn static and dead. Most of them just seem to stare into the distance like soul shriven npc's. Really breaks immersion for me personally.

I just wish there were events that would temporarily affect the world and environment to make it feel more alive. Some have suggested dolmens not being closed and daedra to begin attacking nearby towns and settlements. Others have suggested some in game holiday events, perhaps with a quest that rewards you with special items pertaining to the event a la FFXIV, where you can get special costumes or mounts or something. Just something to shake up the game world and make it feel more immersive, like a living, breathing world.

Agreed, some random city ambient noises, and maybe some more NPCs doing noticeable activities, like horse drawn carts and traders/merchants moving through the streets and talking to other merchants at their stalls or stopping to have conversations in the street, would make the game feel more alive.

Also would be cool to see NPCs commit crimes in some of the scummier cities every now and then, such as Abah's Landing, similar to the thieves in skyrim. This would add definate immersion, because I imagine its not just players that occasionally commit crimes, and it might be handy as a distraction for us players to commit our own crimes while the guards are chasing NPC thieves.

Wouldn't mind some physics in an MMO for a change, but I guess that the calculations had to be done server side so they wouldn't be open to manipulation, meaning that it would be rather problematic having a horde of players running around, stacking an infinite amount of pots and cheese on top of every NPCs head. Would be hilarious to watch though

As for a more lively world, wouldn't hurt, though cloth physics can be heavy to calculate, and bush and water displacement movement is taxing even on a strong computer. When I come to think about it, I don't think I've seen a fully physical rendered MMO yet, where you have a bit of movement in the world's foliage, wind and water displacement. I guess that it's something that needs to be sacrificed to make a world that everyone can enjoy if they want to.

That being said; try modify Skyrim with all the FX updates, then close your eyes and imagine that graphics and immersion in Elder scrolls: Online

I would be happy for even false physics in some things, like a standard flapping animation for banners and flags and what not during rain storms or when it might be windy, and maybe have more weathery things, like sandstorms, in Hew's Bane. I believe there are some parts of Bangkorai/Alik'r Desert that have sandstorm like conditions.

I'm not saying render everything with exact perfect physics, just a bit of animation to some things and more world interaction would be neat. Waves would be really cool as actual animations, but hey. Also, the ability to turn them on/off would help for the non-amazing computers.

Yeah it would be nice if the developers started making MMOs with options to ramp up the visuals depending on your computer, instead of making a watered down version due to some people still using potato powered computers (no offence to people powering their computers with potatoes).

In WoW they semi solve the cloak physics by adding a bone structure to the cloaks with 4 joints in them, so they had some sort of physical look, depending on movement. I guess they could do that in ESO as well, have the banners outside with 4 joint bone structure and a slight flapping animation to mimic waves.

But I guess that having too much work done on graphics as an optional state, does cost a bit to develop, so instead they make a package of a middle ground and leave the optional stuff out. A bit of a shame, but I can sort of understand their reasoning, it is costly to program optional things like that into the game.

Even just walking around, haveing like 20-25 more NPCs just spread out across Hew's Bane with unique things like carts, just walking around doing their own thing, would really help make it feel like a busy city. There are some nice areas that just feel empty.

The servers aren't capable of dealing with the base game let alone any other calculations and replication that the features you want would require.
