Something tells me they wont end up being the good guys.

However I agree, I feel like I am forced to turn my Chars into Thieves just to get to play the new content.

Then again ESO has never been good force choices had to go help 2 enemy factions just to level up.

Well the Iron Wheel are the bad guys in this dlc lol, but I did wish they made it an option, but then again thieves guild is basically everywhere later on so lore wise they could not destroy it. Possibly the main reason why they only allow us to be with the thieves guild. Besides a lot of people wanted the thieves guild and dark brotherhood and that is where the main focus is going to be on.

Thievesguild and Dark brotherhood should be in from start. Different guilds should bite eachother like the previous TESgames. You are either a thief and/or a murderer, or you join the goodie little two-shoes called the fightersguild.

In this DLC, if you want to play it, you are forces to steal.

In the next DLC, you are forced a murderer for the Dark Brotherhood.

Soon the RP-community will flood the forums with reports for harassment from NPC's.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Well the thing of it is ever since daggerfall, they have made endings more one sided., With skyrim with the dawnguard dlc no one really knows what happened with either side of the questline so they gave the option to be join one of both vampire side or dawnguard side. But they made the ending the same and basically even if you join the vampires (Which I did I never really joined the dawnguard side) You still got to kill the main vampire as well as you get quests to take care of dawnguard and vampires. So basically they will make ending the same, or align the same maybe even make different choices but it really would not matter if they did it with some quests like the end of the rivenspire quest when you had to choose one person over another. Thing is they are careful with endings so don't expect multiple endings for any sort of dlc content.

They do the one sided approach because its easier for them later on. Its also why bethesda came up with the dragonbreak concept so they did not have to explain what happened in daggerfall which is why they merged all the endings together so no matter what choice you made your daggerfall hero died because of the dragonbreak fixing itself. While the orcs bretons and redguards became more united and peacefull and Mannimarco became a god.

Overall the DLC is good. However, it would definitely be awesome if they built the stories in a way that allowed the player to have a bit more choice in the direction of their story rather than being forced down a linear path.

I guess you're forgetting that in Skyrim you could openly be in every guild?

However that said, I did like the option of bringing down the Dark Brotherhood there as well as joining. But certainly joining one guild had no impact on any others.

Yeah I'm sure Bethesda have their own canon of events.

I would still like to know what happened between the last Dragonborn and Hermaeus Mora in the end.

As per tradition, I would be willing to bet that the Dark Brotherhood will be almost completely destroyed by the end of the quest anyway, be it because you brought them down or because one of their members betrayed them.

So I would appreciate a choice on that regard, even if the ending is pretty much the same.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

      Meet my characters:
      Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I looked at the sliver and gold as if I was dispatched to go under cover into those alliances and gain their trust. Yes I had to help them but it was all for my side. Actually I kind of wished the game started with silver and gold and then you did your home alliance and main quest to finish out the story. But that's just me.

Yeah you could join them then stop thieves and murders from flooding in gold unpunished. It would open up a whole new aspect of the game. You could even make it optional to players who wish to risk stealing, killing and being hunted.

      Oh wait...

No kidding. The Last Dragon also can potentially have deals with Nocturnal, Namira, Hircine, Molag Bal and Sithis by the end as well as Herma Mora. I actually think it depends on what you do and how you do it, but they'll never answer it.

Fighters Guild is goody two shoes? Wow, that's rich. They get hired to kill people as a mercenary force. They're like Dark Brotherhood but they're open about it and get away with it because they're out in the open. FG is a not nice bunch.

In Morrowind you could join multiple guilds but sometimes one guild would have you do something that the other guild wouldn't like. Like the quest for fighters guild where you are supposed to get the thieves guild codebook in Balmora.

Personally I would -love- to have an "Iron Wheel" themed DLC that only a character who never joined the thieves guild can access... perhaps dealing with their further story in the aftermath of the TG events, when they return to their home base and continue their eternal quest for JUSTICE!

(And yes, I will only play the TG DLC with my "rougelike" characters, no thievery for my dunmer goth librarian, or my orc templaress of stendarr, or my altmer healer priestess, or my argonian dragonknight, or my nord thunder priest...)

Yup, by the looks of it.

If I am not mistaken, then someone somewhere found snippets from datamined quests talking about the Dark Brotherhood fighting the Morag Tong head on.. So its far more likely that the player will be forced to join the Dark Brotherhood, and fight the Morag Tong.

As depressing as it may sound.. Meh.
