Igneous Weapons broken

I noticed a weapon damage difference when using Rally and Igneous Weapons that shouldn't occur, both should give the Major Brutality buff. Anyone else find this happening? @ZOS_GinaBruno

I think the bug is that is not giving the major brutality.

Edit: I tested it and it seems some times it works and other times is just a waste of resource.

Molten Armaments is broken, too, it no longer gives an execute on fully-charged heavy attacks, a unique and defining feature of the class. Plz fix ZOS.

Igneous Weapons Morph gives Spell DMG and WEAPON DMG to character and allies. At certain locations I noticed that only 1 buff was showing under the Title Igneous Weapons. The Major Brutality buff was missing. I checked my stats and indeed my Weapon DMG had not Increased, only my Spell DMG.

Should some1 like to confirm that IGNIOUS WEAPONS malfunctions at certain locations try these:
Skalar's Hoster(boss quests at Wrothgar)
Cyrodiil Keeps(as soon as u port via transitous Shrines give it a go, u will not gain Weapon DMG)
Imperial City Sewers alliance base at corridors and doors.


I also happen to notice it while I was gathering for a raid at Accursed Nursenry. Don't remember my exact location.

I have tested this problem with another person at Skalar's Hoster. While inside he admitted that he only got Igneous Weapon buff icon(which only increases Spell DMG) but not Major Brutality Icon, and that his weapon dmg did not increased. When we stepped outside I used Igneous Weapons again and we noticed 2 buff icons, Igneous Weapons and Major Brutality. Then we looked at our Weapon Damage and it was truly increased.

I have not tested Molten Armaments or the skill without Morphing it.

This is kinda serious for certain builds. Please have a look at it.



Also happens at random locations. Just finished Poachers and within the same area it was not working from time to time.

I tested it and it is broken indeed. Igneous weapons currently gives:

• Minor Brutality for 10 sec (+5% weapon damage)
• Major Sorcery for 30 sec (+20% spell damage)

According to its description it should give +20/20% for 30 sec :-/

Last night Molten armaments was showing I gained minor brutality but no major sorcery..

Minor Brutality is activated by Passive Skill from Earthen Skill line, do not confuse it with Molte/Igneous Weapons.

Fact remains that randomly both Morphs can Fail to give the actual Major buff that the skill says.

I tested it thoroughly in Wayrest (where it is broken), but have not tested it in other locations.

Same confirm IW sometimes not funvtion or not aplies when swaped weapons. This is normal ZOS logic, ninja nerf DK, major nerf STAMINA DK. thx zos.

I wonder if it's attempting to apply to a nearby player who already has Brutality active, and the buff is being canceled for everyone.

Bumping because this is not very cool. Can we get confirmation this bug is known and is being worked on? I am sure a number of players are using the skill right now and have NO IDEA that it is not giving them the buff they may desire.

so nothing new really since its pretty much like the rest of the game.
on the real tho, i tested both morphs today, and i too just wanted to add that this skill is still not working correctly for both morphs. i sometimes wonder if someone at zos already knows about this but was hoping no one noticed or hoping this thread just gets pushed to the bottom of the forums and forgotten about. can you please fiix or atleast acknowledge that you know about this.

Yea noticed the dk reflect was broke on ps4 and started testing stuff. It gives minor brutality consistently but not major.

I'm not sure if you guys are talking about different platforms but I can say as of last night and the last few nights on PC NA in the sewers it was giving both buffs for the full timing.

I did some more testing, and I can confirm other people's findings that the bug is location based.

Locations confirmed NOT working: Rawl'kha, Wayrest Undaunted Refuge

Fortunately it works in most dungeons I've tried it, but I keep having a constant eye on my stats while fighting (thanks to omnistats).

All in all, this ability needs a thorough code check and play testing by the developers to make sure it works reliably.

On xbox I get minor brut everyone time..then 20% of the time I get major and minor.

Still not working after 2 months, i tried it in eaatmarch ans deshaan and it never gave me mayor brutality

Stated this long ago. The only way of getting the second buff back is to wait until igneous weapons runs out, switching bars and roll dodging a few times and then rebuff.

Other as stated here already I can't confirm that it's location based. Most times the buff broke was when other dks gave me their buff (any morph) or I got spellpower buff from somewhere else. Intresting was that though I wouldn't get wdmg buff myself my party got it. So it's not that bad for me since as a heal you don't need it anyway.

Time to finally fix this. Any information about this bug @ZOS_JessicaFolsom?

To update a little, most dungeons I can get it to work, specifically elden root/grahtwood it doesn't work for me.

Did you hit mobs to test the damage to make sure it's not an UI glitch ?

if so, /bug it, as it's more reliable than a post in here
(I know it doesn't look like it, but it is)

I remember thinking something was messed up as well, which is why I got rid of igneous weapons and just kept rally instead.

This is a pretty serious bug, and one that should be relatively easy to fix if brought to the dev team's attention.

Igneous Weapons gives Major Sorcery and Minor Brutality the entire time I've been using it.

I thought the Major Brutality was an inaccurate tooltip and not a bug.

From my testing:

• The skill grants both minor and major brutality, the minor version comes from the Earthen heart passives
• It seems there is a limit to the number of targets that can be affected by this ability, which is why it seemingly never work in town hubs or populated places
• When you don't get said buff, even if you have no one around you, you must wait until the buff expires before reapplying it again to actually get the Major brutality buff

This, I made a post about this a while back, it will prioritize all other players around you before you, they should make it additionally always give you the buff.
