You really Need to increase the spawn time on the Thieves Troves. At almost every corner in Abah's landing I find AFK Macro users who sit by the spawn locations making it impossible to get them.

It reminds me of launch when every single Delve boss had 50 Bots standing farming it.

Well you can find them all over the other zones, in places out of site but basically findable if you don't even look for them.

I know, but many others will find them too... And when they go out they will find one for their character out in the world with a Macro on E to loot it each time it spawns.

Abah's Landing is the most common area for it atm because it's the area where everyone is exploring, over time people will find all the others and many of them will be camped by afk farming bots.

They could fix this by making them spawn in different areas like chests. Also some of these so called bots are players basically waiting because they are to lazy to go out and find them.
But if they are bots they need to do something about this, maybe make a forced interaction that basically makes it prove its a human player doing it. Like a select the symbols in the right order and they give the key on the bottom each time its different. Bots would not be able to auto open them and would be forced to use human interaction. Basically like a in game mini game that allows only thieves guild members the means of unlocking these boxes, and the forced human interaction requirement would kill the bots.

    It's a bot prgram, not a macro

But that aside, maybe make thieves troves require an unlock mechanic like locked chests.

Players, meanwhile, remember if they are truly afk they won't be able to avoid things like gaurd AOE, aggressive NPCs, etc.

Hmm... Well in that case I will let you off with a warning. But if I see you even look at a thieves trove there will be serious consequences.

I was camping one early in the morning ( I'll admit that ) no one was around for a good few hours, then out of no where a VR3 swoops in and takes my spot and gets them before I can, so I go and do some quests, 4 hours later he is still there but the trove is open and he has a full inv lol

Another 3 hours go by, ( still running past the spot ) and he is still there with the trove still open

My opinion they need to spawn randomly. Not at the same place at the same times. Also remember they are all over the world not just in the landing. I found a bunch on wrothgar with noone farming them.

Report them. Or, if you're worried about catching a real player by mistake, say something to them and then report them if they don't respond.

Does not need proof for this - they block the location, no one else can take that then - this is not ok and a longer respawn time will reduce this kind of abuse.

Yeah, I noticed them as well...

It -would- be good if these boxes were a bit more iffy to spawn-camp. Like respawning in different location options, as treasure chests do. Or like mentioned, having a chance of a fellow thief appearing with a should of "that's mine" and entering combat, or a hidden guard suddenly popping into view with their tradematk "stop right there, criminal scum!" and a set of handcuffs... (Oh, now I want a hidden timer which increases the chances of that happening if you loot another stash too quickly after finding one... ;) )

They should employ some GMs again, have them walk about visible to the player base, like bobbies on the beat. This is the most cost effective and player friendly way to tackle botting imo.

So it's come to this again. In before some "farmer" claims they aren't an AFK bot but just don't have chat up. But yeah, if you see someone standing there with a trove open for hours because inventory is full, go ahead and report.

Does not need proof for this - they block the location, no one else can take that then - this is not ok and a longer respawn time will reduce this kind of abuse.

They need to add the human player element. Basically they need to add a lore friendly echacha into the game. Basically, like a code that you hit the right symbols and they have a answer key in not so obvious but also very obvious way, and each one changes for each time it spawns so its not the same and bots can't program in order to auto open loot. That is the issue and the human element is very much needed in this case. Basically required to fix this problem without having to nerf the loot which would be a bad idea. Some players might be sitting around waiting for the chests to spawn, and its lazy but if they did add the human element you can tell the bots from the players because the bots will be gone and they would not have easy looting options. Just as the delete limit was needed to stop the gold farming and gold seller spam, so is a human element for the thieves guild troves. This will fix the problem just as the delete limit fixed the problem.

Making them take longer to spawn will also be a good idea, it would prevent players from being lazy and just sitting there waiting for the spawn. But for the bot problem the lore friendly human element is needed and should have been added in the first place so bots or micro users do not see the chance to gold farm once again once they found out how good it was without having to directly do it yourself. Basically it should be a requirement to do it yourself.

Finding them everywhere is not the problem. The problem is that in Abah's Landing the troves respawn every 60 seconds. These bots are hauling motherloads.

@ZOS_GinaBruno how about having the devs look into the troves be unopenable if you have already opened one in the previous 15 minutes? That would be sure to cut down on the botters.

The zones outside of Abah's landing all respawn on a much longer timer. That is the reason for no crowds being there. Who wants to camp a trove if it spawns every fifteen minutes? It isn't worth it to a bot.

They should definitely be changed to random spawn locations. I'm actually very surprised it was set up this way to begin with. How could you not know this would be abused if the locations were set?

They should be something you randomly stumble across like treasure chests, and not so brightly glowing either.

If it is planned for them to be left as is, they definitely should require lock picking. It is, after all, a treasure of sorts... I think the thief owner of this trove would likely have locked the box if he/she was just going to leave it lying around. People would still camp them but it would at least stop the botting.
