No comment from ZOS yet about the free skill point respec?

There have been a bunch of threads and ZOS is clearly aware of their mistake.

How come this hasn't been addressed yet?

(or if it has, please someone point me in the direction)

There won`t be one. Last DLC there was a respecc and a lot of people complained about it.
So in a way, Zenimax listened to the playerbase ;-)

If they listened they would of given all players a FREE OPTIONAL RESPEC....

Like most games do...

No what Z$S did was be money grubbing and say a big **** you to the community and get people to use crowns... or a ton of gold to respec all their characters...

IDK, the idea that because some people QQ'ed last update because it took them 2 minutes to respec their character after a reset doesn't make sense. Everyone with half a brain should have realized that doing the opposite and forcing people to pay for it is a lot lot worse.

This cannot be acceptable.

ZOS has respec scrolls in the crown store. They could of given every player a free one and let the player choose whether to use it or not. Same for the Champion Points they could of made a scroll to do the same thing. ZOS's silence on this matter with all the forum traffic referencing it is very pathetic.

ZOS don't need to comment on every thread, they made their position on this clear a while back. No plans for a free respec for the DLC, but if there was one it would have to be a forced one for all as that's the only way they can currently do it although they're working on an alternative system for the future.

I'm personally glad they're changing the system and don't want a forced respec now. I don't plan on making any changes and noting down existing point allocations and then re-allocating them is not a quick job when you have multiple characters across a couple of accounts!

It's not so much a case of defending it, as pointing out that it was dealt with a while back. The problem with this forum is the propensity for people to flog dead horses ad nauseum, free respecs and the Justice System PvP being two classic examples. There are also those, myself included, who simply don't need a respec and the inconvenience that goes with it when it's forced. I'm all in favour of optional ones.

Actually there is already official response from Matt Firor regarding this issue:

MMORPG: Will players be getting a free respec of their abilities with the Thieves Guild patch?
MF: No, it’s not a good idea to make everyone respec their entire character whenever a DLC is released. Until we have the ability to respec just one skill line at a time, we won’t be doing any more forced respecs. We do have plans for this, and we’ll get it in as soon as we can.

If you login the game there are 1000s and 1000s of people swarming hews bane. I havent heard even one person in the game complain they didnt get a free respec.

If ZO$ gave us a free respec at this point I would be ticked. I've already spent over 100k gold on respecs. For those ZO$ employees screaming "It's only gold?!".... yeah that's 100k gold I could have spent on gear or backpack upgrades. Why should I have to throw away gold because ZO$ decided to change a bunch of skills and champion tree?

Couldn't they just give us a respec ticket like the one you buy from the crown store to use as you see fit. Perhaps one and an additional per each character on your account that's at least 50. Not given one for the changes made is pretty ridiculous IMO.

Truly? Because it seems casuals, despite not playing as often, are the ones to stay the longest if the game is genuinely appealing.
In my experience, hardcores are the ones that tend to tire of games pretty quickly--if they don't burn through the content at an obscene rate, they claim that the game isn't 'hardcore enough' and leave for the next game.

lol well if they stick around until TES6 comes out thats a LONG time. I think ZOS would be hjappy with retaining customers for multiple years. What you dont get tho is everyone's money is the same. Actually casuals probably spend more and use the service far less.
