Help w/ Class/ Build?

c.p.garrett1993_ESO
Alright, so I'm coming back after a few months and wanting to try to get back into the game again... I need help finding what would be the best race, class, and build for me.

I've always loved stealth gameplay, and in Skyrim my favorite playthrough was basically a Nightblade/ Assassin that only used bound weapons. From what I could find we still don't have bound weapons, and may never actually get them at all, so that's not an option.

Is stealth any fun in this game? If so, what are the best races/ classes for it? I presume Nightblade, but I just wanted to get more info on it before I roll with that.

Are you planning on doing PVP? Then go Nightblade.
If not, I'd suggest you to simply not bother.

Yeah, stealth is great in ESO and especially in PvP - if you're that way inclined of course.

You're correct, NBs are the best class to go as they have unique active and passive abilities that work well with stealth/assassin playstyles.

Before deciding a Race, really, you firstly need to decide whether you want to go for a Stamina or Magicka build as the racial passives will benefit either one.

Whilst both builds have access and use a lot of the NB class abilities, StamNBs typically utilises DW, 2H and Bow abilities whereas MagNBs will go DW for the passives (they won't use any active abilities) and have the ability to use a Resto (heals) or Destro (damage) staves.

For an assassin/ganker (stealth, kill quick, stealth, get out) the best races are:

    - Stamina
    1. Khajit
    2. Bosmer
    3. Imperial
    4. Redguard

    - Magicka
    1. Breton
    2. Dunmer
    3. Altmer

    Look at them here: http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Racial+Skills

[EDIT: The most important things to consider when selecting a race are 1) alliance of friends if you don't have adventurer pack and 2) aesthetics (personally I don't like the Khajit look) as the benefits between all of these are marginal.]

Personally I prefer StamNB because of the range on the bow, the ability to use active 2H and DW abilities which are great and the magicka abilities I use (cloak, relentless focus, double take) aren't negatively affected by my low Magicka pool whereas a MagNB using my stamina abilities will suffer reduced damage.

Let me know if you need anymore info on this.

    Agree with penguins post...great info.

Stealth is hugely fun in ESO. The "stealthiest" build is probably a khajiit Nightblade. They have a tiiiiiny detection radius, cloak makes them disappear and they're fast. I disagree with your first response - I love stealth in PVE. I sneak and kill, and when my character was a youngling I LOVED taking him to dungeons I had no business being in and sneaking around. I got all the Craglorn Sky Shards as a V1 - in "Skyrim speak" that's like saying I took a level 10 character through all the level 40 burrows. One of my favorite things in all Bethesda games is to explore and scout content way out leveled to me.

Bound weapons - you kinda sorta have this in ESO, but not the same as Skyrim. A lot of ESO class abilities conjur "magical" weapons. For example, the Nightblade finisher move Assassin's Blade "thrusts a magical blade dealing xxx damage, and doing 300% more damage to targets with low health." This move creates a red glowing blade not unlike the bound weapons in Skyrim, although they only appear as you activate the ability. Don't worry, I think the ESO battle system is way more advanced and way more fun than Skyrim. They did a great job with the evolution of it.

I have a "leveling guild" called Fighting to Fifty. We help new and experienced players with exactly stuff like this. Once you get going in the game, let me know if you want an invite. Message me via PSN or in-game...I might not see a reply here. We run groups through dungeons, and answer all the questions you have along the way, lol.
