I hope this helps some of you but if you always keep your weapon unsheathed your fps will go up.I am sure this is a bug ZOS is aware of but its very deterimental to Mac's. I have noticed a 10-20fps difference on the Mac's(wife's) and about 10 fps difference on my PC but i run a much higher graphics card than the Mac.
Hope that you guys play a bit easier with this until its fixed
