I am one of many who seem to be crashing when trying to launch the game following the latest update. From what i have read it appears to be related to our gfx cards not being dx11 compatible. I know my gfx card is farely old but with my rig the game has been running great. When i run dxdiag it says directx version 11.1 but under feature levels it says 10.0,9.3,9.2,9.1 . can someone confirm whether this is the problem and that i am going to have to buy another gfx card to play the game?

Oh dear. Thanks for confirming. Bit short on cash as well at the moment so not sure what would be a good replacement. :(

I've got the same cards (pair of), and it's reporting DX11 as well.

I'd been playing on the Public Test Server and the strange part is that prior to the last PTS update, I was able to run ESO with no problems, and even got better framerates and visuals. I just figured I had a borked update or I would have started looking into a new card sooner (or two cards - I've got 4 monitors).

Anyone got an idea why DXDiag reports it as supporting DX11? This royally sucks.

Here's a chart that should make your decision a bit easier: tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

It groups up graphics cards into general performance categories so you can tell what cards are better than what. In your case you'll be interested in looking at the column with the gts 250 to determine if your new card will be better or worse.

On the low end of the spectrum of what's available right now that'd be about equal to a gts 250 would probably be the GT 730.

You can find one here: amzn.com/B00KYCTCZ8

You'd want the GT 730 with 1 GB DDR5 not the one with 2 GB DDR3. The DDR3 one is actually a really old crappy fermi part where as the DDR5 one is the newer kepler.
