Cost of DLCs

Let me start by saying that I have no issues paying for DLCs.

The issue that I have is that the DLCs cost 2k crowns and you can not purchase just 2k crowns or purchase the DLC with a credit card. You have to purchase an odd amount 1500 or 3000. This to me is not a way to treat your customer base. Yes, I know you say buy the 3k and save the extra 1k for the next DLC. I do not wish to do this as I may not be playing by the time it comes out for unknown reasons. I really think ESO needs to fix this issue.

I've always agreed. No alternative explanation other than the company is trying to squeeze every $$ they can out of their customers. It's a standard marketing trick, but still pretty cheap. I'm sure the finance/marketing departments made this decision. To them, we are just $$. But the same can be said about any company in America.

I suppose the reasoning is that you are more likely to buy 5500 Crowns which fit with purchase in game for the latest DLCs (2000 Crown for Thieves Guild and 3000 Crown for Orsinium)?

If I recall correctly Orsinium had the same cost in Crowns when it first was released, so they only change price between Crown to real money and not how many Crowns they charge for each DLCs. Normally older products would go down in price after some time, but this way they can keep DLCs at the same price for a longer time with Crowns.

There should be an option to buy them separately, but business is business. At least they offered a pretty substantial sale. You'll be walking away with more and paying less this time around, just use it as an opportunity to upgrade something or save some time. Maybe grab a respec if you need one.

OP you do realise crowns are currently on sale for 40% less? So you are complaining but buying 3k crowns for approximately the price of 1,5k crowns.

Do you really think your argument is valid?

Irrelevant about the price being lower for the crowns. He just wants the dlc and only the dlc. The price of crowns themselves was not really the issue here. Just saying it is more convenient for him to just buy the dlc period if such an option were available as he does not want the other junk in the shop. The fact he must buy crowns before he can buy the dlc is the issue as the amount of crowns does not match the dlc price. Especially since he is also buying my dlc....ya know us ol married folks....

Matter of fact I do think my statement is valid.

I simply wish to purchase the DLC. I do not care for and have never cared for trinkets such as reskined mounts/clothing ect that you purchase in game store. I just play the game and think that there should be an option to just purchase the DLC via cash instead of tokens that you may never use if for some reason you quit playing the game. Just common logic.

Thus it has nothing to do with the price of crowns.
