Appreciating Innovative Templars

Wanted to throw this up as my way of saying thanks to the Templars I watch and learn from in the pursuit of creating my own halfway-decent PVP Templar. Do the same for any you follow or know of!

Kristofer/JackDaniels:

I admire the fact he pretty much refuses to use the more powerful abilities available. Not just Wrecking Blow; Biting Jabs and even Vigor get shelved, and he can still pull off insane DPS with a pretty unconventional build.

DerGanze:

The DPS Ganze pulls off is pretty disgusting. He's the first Magplar I started watching when I was researching better ways to build my own and I was just blown away by what he could do.

I'm a recent sub of Philly's and I'm pretty blown away by what he's capable of with a 5 piece of heavy armor. His channel is great in terms of insight into his class. Check him and the others out!

Thanks for the shout-out man, it's been cool getting some awesome support just getting started out making these vids.

Kristofer was the dude whose video I watched when I first got this game (him basically wiping a 1v7 back before mistform nerf) and I was a level 40 Breton trying to go stamina and was like thats the dude I wanna be! Lol it didn't end up like that at all but its an honor to be compared with these 2 dudes.

Also if anyone wants any mag templar pvp topic discussed for one of my vids *I just comment over 1vX * lemme know and we'll get into it soon.

Watching Jack wreck people make me glad I'm not on PC.

His videos are the reason I picked Templar when the game came to console.

I wish more people would try to play outside the box, it's generally more fun for the game.

Do you think that Vampire for a templar for pvp is a must-have?

No but there is a reason all 3 of us have it. Templar ultimates are very poor, none are slotted in any of these videos and the only one i see regularly used is the healbot one.

I see crescent sweep used once every week or 2 and I haven't seen nova in 3 weeks+ and these ultimates are a sign someone is a weak target

So if u want something other than dawnbreaker or meteor u gotta go vamp

I just posted this in another thread, but this place is perfect for it as well. I made my magic Templar to mimmic other classes as best as possible to positive results.

For a while I thought I was the only Templar left in Cyrodiil. Anyway, since I'm a 1 character guy and all I have is my Templar, I've spent plenty of time and gold fixing him. Personally I don't do much of anything that I'm "supposed to" and instead built a character that at a moments notice in PVP, completely change up my play style to mirror my attacker.

As of late last night I'm sitting at about 37K Magic, 18K Health, and 11K Stamina. I run two staves. On my destro bar it's Breath of Life (heals around 9000), a destro staff skill that I'll probably swap out, reflective light hitting 3 people at once for 4K and 6K DOT, Inner Light, and Structured Entropy. On the Resto bar I go BoL, mutagen, radiant oppression for about 8.5K damage, and then inner light and structured entropy again. My ultimates are Bat Swarm to fight groups, and Soul Assault for single targets. SA is actually hitting for 44K damage now! What holds this all together are my PVP potions, invisibilty + speed.

Here is how it works in practice.

If I'm 1 on 1 with a Sorc ... probably bad news for me because I'll never be able to out DPS them, but with heals I often string the fight out so long that they try to run away. I pop that invisibilty pot and run them down. Streaking Sorcs hate me.

1 on 1 vs a NB ... they have to kill me in 4 seconds or they are screwed. If they don't, which they usually can't, I heal and then at first chance start burning them down with the staff. The staff is important because heavy attacks will stick to people giving you a better idea where they are hiding. All else fails I go invisible and just troll them like every NB does to everyone else. I've found that NBs really don't know how to deal with a stealth Templar.

1 on 1 vs a DK ... they lose. Seriously what do they do well?

The bigger the Zerg is the better my guy performs. I get a ridiculous amount of kills because I hit everything from range, often 3 at a time. Same thing applies to heals.

All in all there is no way you're gonna out DPS a Sorc or out annoy a NB. Trust me I've tried. But if you are willing to put a clinically insane amount of gold into your gear and get creative you can get close, while still being a great healer.

    Long live the Templar!
