PLEASE remove the snare/root's from gap closer i know you say that they are there in place for people to actually connect BUT if the player closing the gap didnt connect with the first gap closer they would of atleast got the damage *if the enemy didnt dodge it* and said player would just use the gap closer again.
the gap closers are being spammed now purly bcuz the enemy knows you cant counter this mechanic as its *built in*

*this becomes most noticable while being outnumbered and trying to kite/run away

now i play every class and i try and 1vX/small scale with every class but when it comes to DK/templar thats when i notice this the most bcuz these class have bad kiting as it is now if this gap close mechanic was brought back to the old day's then it would give EVERYclass the chance to run escape/kite (granted it wont be as easy on a templar/DK) but atleast it would be more possible

i hope that i have come across politly and clearly
please just reconsider and change the mechanic

    Gap closers are dumb in general and it would be a very interesting place if they did not exist, but your point, more specifically, is very accurate.

    In concept it makes a lot of sense, the 'gap closer' is a charge move and 'realistically' you would travel significantly faster than a person running away with a charge.

    Artificially decreasing the movement speed of the one being attacked doesn't work in this situation though because you can spam the gap closer. Instead they should just give you major momentum increasing your movement speed.

    Artificially increase the movement speed of the attacker, not decrease the speed of the attacked.
    Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

    thank you this would make so much more sense like they have done with the new DK chains in the TG pts where it gives you major experdition for 2 seconds or so after using the ability
    this would give a better experience for both people enemy and player trying to flee

    They could just treat the player charging with the code used to make things like arrows track players no matter how the move. Ie: when u fire a light attack on someone when thyre in range, and lets say they use streak, the arrow homes in on them regardless. Im no coder but I think this would work. This allows us to remove the snare/root from gap closers..


    HOWEVER, knowing ZOS, most likely if they implemented this, I wouldnt be surprised if we end up getting bounced around by DK wings since we are treated like "projectiles". This bug would take a year to fix with people getting flipped around like tennis balls.

    It's yet another instance of ZoS changing things to give the larger group more advantages ON TOP OF the advantages that they already have because they are...you know...a larger group.

    ZOS already changed gap closer to a what 60% snare instead of a 100% snare because of non-stop crying about. The point of a gap closer is to close the gap between players and enemies and kinda hard to do that if say a sorcerer just BE through it or a night blade just cloaks through it all.

    Please stop the crying about gap closers and for how they were designed. You know what happens when players cry and whine about something doing it's job ? You get over nerfed like tanks. Players cried about them for doing their job even after ZOS changed them to no longer be unkillable zerg busters to just near unkillable and they continue to get nerfed for a entire year.

    So please stop it.

    The point is... It's not how they were designed. It was a fix implemented for a mechanic that was not broken. They reduced the snare to a 60% slow because they knew the screwed up. But for some reason didn't go all the way and fix it...
    The gap closing zerg doesn't need any more advantages than they already have.

    There were a few really legitimate suggestions offered in the comments above. Coming into a thread and saying that everyone there is "crying" really takes away all legitimacy from your arguments.

    the point flew over your head. you saw a mechanic being complained about then hopped on the "he is crying for a nerf!" train with almost no hesitation. You have the ability to think more critically than that, use it:)

    i dont think every class should have gap closures, it's something that added flavor and distinction to classes.

    This game was not marketed as 1V1 and as such shouldnt be balanced around it.
