Awe,..now it's ME who's jealous.Switzerland is beyond beautiful. When I was in Germany I wanted to head over there, but the person I was traveling with wouldnt drive us there. She has the rental car,so I was stuck, darn it.

It is indeed an amazing country! The nature is absolutely beautiful and there are so many little villages that are perfect to get away and relax <3. Austria is very similar and the Bavarian part of Germany as well I think!
If you want to visit Switzerland make sure you do around october, the prices can sometimes be cut by half by staying at a chalet, or hotel since there arent that many people going on holidays at that time!

The area called Berchtesgadener Land - that is where AH had his eagle's nest home - is what looks a bit like switzerland in Bavaria. Take a look

    konig%206.jpg

I tended to go from the lake level up the mountains on hiking tours there - no roads, no people, nothing, just nature - with an emergency radio, to pick me up in the case of an emergency - hiking alone in about 2300-3000m height for a couple of days - just me and nature - wonderful.

I've been to the remains of the Berghof. It sits on the Obersalzberg. There's only parts of it left now.We had to walk up there,(nearly killed me D)and there is a Hotel too.Something Türken.Cant recall it's name.

You could have used AH's golden elevator which leads directly up into the Berghof as well. No walking required.

    ElevatorCorner.jpg

    Well,if I could have.Simba,my friend likes to walk,..a lot,which I cant now.
She had us walk the entirety of the Vogelsang in Eifel National Park as well.THAT was a hike.

oh yes, macadamia nuts, cashew - too additive that stuff.

I'm addicted to all kinds of nuts and seeds. Macadamia is a relatively new trend where I live though, so regular stores don't sell them. Here it's mainly roasted&salted: cashew, peanuts (with and without the red thin skin), pistachio.
Raw: hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds.

I live in Denmark, and I have to travel to Sweden to buy fresh pistachio and almonds. They seem to have a much bigger selection of fruits, vegtables and nuts in regular stores. It's easier than looking for places sells them in Denmark :p

I love Macadamia nuts! When I lived in Hawaii we used to buy them all the time for around $1.99 a box. There was about 20 chocolate covered ones in it.Yummm!

@Lysette wow that part looks absolutely amazing!!! I am in love with lakes surrounded by hills or mountains <3. I intend doing a lot of hiking this summer, I just cant wait <3 Last summer it was overly hot, even for Switzerland and unfortunately I feel fainty when its so hot :(.

And oh wow I never used that grill <3 Normally it is just a little hot stone plate, where you put raclette slices with a spatula, but I am very sure in the grill that you showed it must taste better!

The US has for certain some very nice areas - I loved the north-west and west though, Washington State, Oregon, Montana, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada - well I like semi-deserts and mountains - and when both is combined I am happy, like in south africa - I even have 2 oceans nearby - cannot be better. Not to talk about the beauty of the kalahari desert and the white-sand dune desert of the Namib in the neighboring countries Namibia and Botswana.

I was born in Washington State.Tacoma.Well,America might bear the brunt of many jokes, but, yes,we do have some beautiful places.
Also,I have lived in Montana and it is one of the most wildly beautiful states we have.Very few people live there.Well, maybe more these days.
I used to live in several towns.Cut Bank,Missoula, and Hungry Horse.
I've lived in so many places because my parents were Country musicians and we were always on the road touring. All my life I have traveled.

No,.actually, after some bouts with that belly aching,it went away after a few days.I didnt feel it like you do when you get real hungry the normal way. Whenever it got too bad,I drank water. My nerves went nutz though.I didnt sleep, and yet would kind of go into a nod occasionally.
The things you have heard about 'starvation" arent all true.It takes a lot longer than two weeks to die of starvation.I know this for real.

Not true, I like 5 cheese pizza, olives, pepperoni salami, capers and fresh garlic - the cheese on top of it - a thick layer - of Gouda, Edam, Gorgonzola, Mozzarella and Cheddar - of course with a crusty thin italian bottom layer, not fluffy. Garlic has to be fresh, otherwise it is lame.

Well and the olives black spanish ones of course, not green ones from somewhere else.

I once ate a family sized pizza with all of my favorite toppings - and was sick for days after doing that. Just too much fat, that made me not want to move and I felt awfully stuffed. I won't do that again.
