I find both highly entertaining and fun, but I do have to say that ESO does seem better of a game. I play it kind of in a single player like manner meaning I run around do quests and adventure by myself.

I think a dragon mount would be and yes it may be set way before skyrim but the profit in the first part of the main quest talks about the dragon born so why not bring in a few bits to tie it with skyrim since it all leads to skyrim

If I had a mere 10AP for everytime someone posted about wanting dragons in ESO, I could buy the entire set of Akaviri armor & weapons and still have some motif pages left over for sale. As many have explained it would be lore breaking, unbalanced, and probably crash the game everytime someone flew by on their dragon mount.

There have been several Dragonborn, and anyone who wears the Amulet of kings is called Dragonborn. (It may not be the same thing as the Dragonborn from TES V Skyrim, as theres some debate over that) The prophet is not specifically referring to The last Dragonborn. What ESO actually leads to is the rise of Tiber Septim, who later becomes Talos. Theres still the issue with the staff of chaos to deal with, then the return of the Neravarine... then the Oblivion Crisis, before we get to the Skyrim Civil War, and the Last Dragonborn.

    Wamasu Mount please!

    ESO_wamas_port.jpg

This is a lot more reasonable choice given the theme. I'm still hoping for a war elephant, war mammoth, Echalette, Wamasu, and baby Silt strider. Silt striders would be cool and fit the theme. They have to be raised after all before they become buses. I'd make them part of some future Telvanni-oriented dlc though.

I could make the argument Oblivion was far better than Skyrim, as Skyrim was severely "dumbed-down" (for lack of a better word) but if all you care about is "Dragons" then yes, Skyrim had "it all"

And Thomas the Tank Engine. I saw him in Skyrim too, which means we should have that in ESO, right?

I for one will be sorely disappointed if he doesn't feature in some future trial as an enemy :p.

But seriously OP I don't know how much more I can explain about why dragons being ridden around just does not make sense for ESO. I guess I didn't mention that the only people who even rode dragons in Skyrim were Dragonborn (your character and Miraak) though the use of a dragon shout (Bend Will) to control them. Dragons don't just allow people to ride them. Putting them in ESO as a mount would mean that everyone is suddenly Dragonborn and has learned the shout or is an individual with a deep knowledge of the Thu'um at least, and a Dragonborn individual is extremely rare and mastering the Thu'um takes a lifetime of study if you're not Dragonborn.

It just doesn't make sense to have them being ridden as mounts by everyone. It didn't make sense for every man and his dog to be dragon riders in Skyrim, and it doesn't make any more sense for Online.

There was a mod for Oblivion which gave you a Dragon mount, complete with saddle bags and all. It would even fight alongside you. I believe the mod's name is Akatosh Mount and the maker had something with Storm in his/her name, but I haven't played Oblivion in a long time so I can't be sure anymore. (the brain is the first to go, they say ;) )

... yeah! I covered that with trains... I didn't want to mention Thomas the Tank Engine because I would then have to go into the fact that James is the best engine and admit my unending love of Thomas the Tank Engine. But seriously, my son loved that mod, hats off to whoever made it and many others.

Yeah, silt-striders have to be raised.

Then you have to cut their shell open, hollow out space in the carapace, and cut the nerves apart to allow the "driver" to control them.

The physical combat had better snap and was just more fun to play. Oblivion was more tactical, and Morrowind even more so. Oblivion/Morrowind were definitely more wizard-friendly and more about the pause/go pause/go business of picking your tactical little tricks. On Skyrim it was a blast to rip free and leave your magic for minor battle tweaks or alchemy/enchantments. I loved playing as a warrior in Skyrim. I loved the weightiness of the weapons, and the archery really felt great where you had to determine your arc. Don't knock Skyrim. It lost in some areas but gained in others. I admit that the Guilds felt a little bit on the rails. The main story arc felt a little on the rails. I felt like the Penitus Oculus was far less interesting as a quest than the DB version. Dawnguard and Vampire faction were pretty equivalent and fun though. The Solstheim dlc was wonderful though and a great way to reminiscence on the island from our old morrowind days. I can see the point though about the game being definitely less about choices, and that most choices led you on a dark path or no path at all. That was my biggest complaint about Skyrim, that there was just so much more dark side content as a player I felt like there was no choice at all. That was a big loss I think.

The people asking for a dragon mount could not care less about TES lore. They just want a flying mount. I strongly doubt that ZOS will develop this idea.

The whole idea of flying mounts is a bad one. Since it would mess up sooo much... from Cyrodil to every zone.

Best we can plausibly expect is maaaaybe someday floating mounts. Like... floating carpets. Floating broomsticks. Floating ayleid driftdisks. Ride-able netches.
But nothing that goes higher then average character chest-hight, nothing that can go over walls or mountains...
