Just hit VR1

I just hit VR1 with my first character and now I have a problem.

Should I continue to gain VR on this character or should I start on getting alts to VR1 so that when they remove VR with Dark Brotherhood I can have all my alts at 50 and have everything I do on any character contribute to them all?

There are some costumes you get as reward during vet levels most likely they will become unobtainable once vet levels are removed.

Also, CP is account wide, so if you keep working on your VR1, that will conver an instant level bump on your others when they hit 50, after the VRs are removed. Technically this will apply after as well, but in the meantime.

when are the vet ranks be removed? are you sure there won't be an alternative to getting the costumes?

VRs are getting removed in the Dark Brotherhood DLC. That can be assumed to be 4-5 months away. If this is your first ever V1 toon, I'd say get that to v16 because you'll be given 160 CP(supposedly) to compensate you.

Well I am gonna level the alts now or later. Just trying to see which would be the most efficient and waist less time.

I also don't want to waist time grinding out the VR if it would be quicker getting the alts up now.

I hear VR take much longer than 1-50.

They won't remove the vr ranks for another 6 months or so I belive. If you don't mind playing whatever class and charector you are now then keep playing and get lots of champ points. Otherwise find the best race and class you want and level up again.

Now that the point is brought up I'm curious how they will handle the costumes. Perhaps by reaching certain CP thresholds similar to the vet levels? Makes the most sense to me. Can't imagine they'd lock people out of them.

If you want to be able to wear the highest CP gear possible when VRs go then you may want to concentrate on your main for CP gain to reach that lvl. Think it was 180 or something like that could be wrong its pretty early here.

Alternatively you could get all alts to VR1, playing your main while it has enlightened exp (stacks up to X days Y amount of exp) to add to CP gains. Works well with the catch up system. On conversion with VR removal your V1+ will add a small amount of CP if you are under the new CP gear limit???

Silver/Gold will have a motif and costume added for their completion rewarded retrospectively but that's with TG DLC 1wk. Other costumes and polymorphs given for some VR lvls attained and some quests.

Few blanks there but you get the gist and there's plenty on them

Depends OP how long did it take you to get to VR1? When did you starts?

If you started this year, I would say try and aim for VR16.

If you started a long time ago and only now attained VR1. I would say go for the latter and level alts.

However I would recommend at least getting to VR4 before starting on alts if that is your plan simply because even then you should have something like 30 CP or so and even that low number will help you a lot.


I am going to try and push 2 chars for VR16 and then the rest to VR1 for DB ( I mostly just play my 2 VR16's)

If you don't chase CPs your toons will all be left behind. Future DLCs will become more challenging based on the average number of CPs ZoS perceive us to have. When the VRs are removed CPs will be the main metric that ZoS can use to determine loot drops, gear, weaponry and a myriad of things.

What I am doing is using my maxed out VR16 Sorc to gain CPs while the enlightenment is there then I level up my 7 other alts. I prefer this to grinding and until more lasting DLC is produced this is how I play.

I'm V10 and I'm planning on getting to V16 with as many CPs as possible (before I start to lose my mind) before the changes. I believe it will:
1. Make levelling alts easier due to the greater number of CPs
2. Essentially make those alts V16s when they hit 50
3. Allow me to become Enlightened when I switch back to my main to earn CPs faster
4. Require fewer/zero gear changes/improvements for my alts after 50 which saves cash
5. Allow my main to farm V16 mats for them before they even get there
