ESO Web API

Dear Zenimax Online and the ESO Community,

I'm sure this issue has been addressed on numerous occasions. But I want to re-iterate the community's need for a Web-based API.
This kind of API could include:
Character Information eg
│ Health
│ Inventory
│ Current Location/Zone
│ Influences
│ Quests
│ etc.

Guild Information eg
│ Roster
│ Date Joined
│ etc.

AvAvA Information eg
│ Elder Scrolls Status/Location
│ On-Going Fights/Sieges
│ etc.

News
And much, much more!

I understand that not all of this data has to be included in the API due to the fact that this might break game-design, but base-game data like Character or Guild Info should definetely be available. Also, it's 2016, for crying out loud!

I also understand that this might take some time considering you might not even have started to think about this, as well as translating this API into different languages, which is totally fine, as long as it gets done.

I hope to see some news about an API in the near future. Yours truly,
~@Medallyon

If this would help in the development of more robust ESO apps I am all for it.

I would love to have the ability to take a piece of the game with me wherever I go similar to the Destiny app.

I think this would go a long way in keeping us connected to the ESO universe as well as to our friends/guilds.

Yeah i agree. Can do amazing things go if I had rest access to data. Oghma basically isn't feasible without data access.

If I had database access I could recreate wow armory quite accurately for eso.
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

I'd love to see this for offline research timers etc, especially for phone apps.

And make the data read only. No modifications from outside, to help with security.

I agree completely. Using an API as such would increase connectability. Also, It's not really hard to use APIs, so I'd be excited to check out what the community could come up with.

I'm adding the skills right now, all the class ones are ready (and up to date for the Thieve's Guild update) but I'll try to have as many skill trees as I can for the DLC release.

    Damn, that's yours?!?

I've got it on my Phone already :D
If I'm very honest, I don't use it very much because I can't be bothered to reset my horse timer manually every day, but once again it proves that if we had an API to work with, I would definitely utilise tools as such.

    Please reconsider, @ZOS_Employees.

    Yours sincerely,

Bit late but I am all for this.
Matter of fact, it would be a tremendous feature as I could write my own service to look at my character and investigate options for armour, weapons, enchantments etc.

Those things get more and more important to tweak the character to my liking and play style.

I honestly would not care for actual real-time values. They can be out of sync by half a day (or a day for all it matters) and if API calls are limited e.g. 1000/day or something like that.

Come on guys. Let's get this done!!!

They've already said no just not never.
Their reasons behind it tho do suggest never unless staff changes but who knows, maybe they're working on it.

The last MMO I played had an API for developers to tap into so that they could create maps of the PVP world, see what keeps were under attack, what keeps you held, boss spawns, and all kinds of events. It was pretty sweet.
It'd be quite nice if we had something like that so we could see how Cyrodiil is going when we're out and about. I bet the community could come up with some pretty amazing things if ZOS gave them the tools.

I've seen screenshots of this from guild mates, and would like to know if you plan on putting this on iPhone?
