Guild Traders - Suggestion

Hello people,

I got a little suggestion regarding Guild Traders.. I always get fed up of having to go through a lot of Guild Traders to just find 1 item at a decent price I think it would be better to implement a system like in runescape having a grand exchange where you just go to one person to buy everything but this would destroy all the trading guilds so a way around this would be having a 1 main Guild Trader where all the trading guilds bid for a place on the list of guilds on the market so the guild that pays the most will come up on top of the list where people would look first for items and so on.

Searching through many guild traders to find the right item at the right price is called shopping. You basically eliminate bargain hunting.

It seem like only the richest guild would benefit from your idea.

I think a better system would be having a global trading board where you can search for items and it will tell you which guild traders are selling those items and for what price and where they are located.

Making it easier to search for things but keeping the guild trader system as you would still have to travel to that guild trader (but it wouldn't be a waste of time cause you'd already know they're selling the item you desire)

Doing this defeats the whole purpose of guild traders.
You're suggesting a global auction house .... I like the actual store feel and competition piece of traders.

We travel around just like shopping at stores...prices tend to set on location of the trader and Guild participation which keeps money moving in the economy different that what happens in other games

Just my opinion but I like what exists...other than the bugs

I agree with you. I'd like it to stay the way it is because I enjoy revisiting maps and cities in this way but I can see why other players (probably the mmo crowd mostly) would like a global auctions house.

Another note is that when people have to go around checking prices they will probably not always find the cheapest one. As well as some are willing to pay a little more not to have to go around looking for too long.
This keeps prices somewhat abstract, and reduces the speed of the inflation.

So I say stick with the current system.

I came from games that use global AHs and it was very strange to get used to but now I've played awhile I'm in one guild for PvP/PvE and all my social stuff then I'm in 4 trading guilds to buy/sell, even though I'm still very new if I can be bothered I can make a lot of money very easily so I'm not sure what the issue is really. I can see how some might say the elites are pushing up trader prices etc but the one great thing about separate traders is that it's almost impossible to price fix as in one guild I can buy something for the normal price of 100 and resell it in another for their normal price of 500. It all depends on the market and I don't notice any issues selling my wares so I really like this system and it stops a lot of price fixing or people crashing the economy on purpose that I have seen in several other MMOs I've played as one example..

Another MMO I played basically some very rich players bought out most of one of the nations AHs to resell it in their nations AH to try and cause people to relocate to their faction. This issue is basically impossible with ESO as you can only be in a limited number of guilds per account and unless someone wanted to waste hundreds of real life £ on causing a market crash it makes the current system very safe.

I agree with all but OPs post here :)

This would technically be an auction house DjKahun, which would inflate prices even more. Selling and reselling would vanish to a minimum.

You feel it as a downside, since you can't use all the filters we PC users have. We can search detailled, from favourites, really anything. It takes 2 seconds for me per store to look for fortified nirn.

I can think some problem with that idea.

    1. This would hurt the seller as they have more competition to deal with as result they have to sell their item lower than expected.

    2. Buyers could potentially be wasting time cause they have to search the item, find the location, travel to it, and but it before some else dose, because all buyer will be doing the exactly the same thing.

    3. This would hurt the poorest guild as they bid for guild traders at the latest undesirables location cause now the richest guild has more incentive to bid at these locations.

Hate shopping IRL lol as @Grabmoore mentioned I myself play on PS4 without any addons so it is quite a hassle having to go through loads of pages of items with limited filters, they could at least improve the way you search for items in ESO. Like letting you search for the name etc

For my 2 cents worth - I like the guild trader system. What I would like to be able to do though is go from stall to stall and have it remember my last search or be able to type in a search (we don't have that ability do we?)

I like the guild trader system as it is - but I do wish they would put the traders close to the wayshrine (like Mournhold, for example) in every city. I do tend to skip searching a lot of places like Shornhelm when I know they are far away.

If you are on console, there is no such option. But if you play on PC get the addon AwesomeGuildStore. It gives you that option and makes searching so much easier.

I hate the current system because I simply lack the time to search for the specific items I need. It's probably the most negative thing about this game.

If I had a lot of free time, I don' think it would be as negative. But in the end, I think this game should assume that people have a limited amount of playtime per day. Therefore, a global search engine should be implemented to help those people.
