Campaign Corruption...

stewart.leslie76b16_ESO
A friend of mine has decided that it's time he pushed for Emperor, and he did well on gaining AP to get top of the table, but as we had Emperor already he's fight was in vain. Neither of the other factions didn't try and dethrone, so he decided to move to a campaign where the faction we belong to didn't have much of a foothold. There's more to the reason behind the change, but we put it down to pre-pubescent hormones of being childish rather then he hasn't spent every gaming minute in Cyrodiil.

Anyway, on the next campaign, he starts making progress and as I was bored and got a nice set of gear drop for me, I thought I'd go and help him. We're making progress by taking resources and keeps, no interference for a couple of hours. The the Emperor shows up and progress stopped. All of a sudden the current leader of our faction show up with a few friends. Great, we can progress. Err, no. They practically just stood there. Anyway, me and my friend kept plucking away making little progress and the other group vanish. My friend who was chasing for Emperor was keeping his eye on AP, and noticed that the current leader AP was rising very quickly, but no progress being made at all on the map. At this point, we gave up and went of to do something else.

We go back on a few hours ago, again all is quiet till my friend makes a jump in AP and up pops that Emperor again, so we decide to defend the keep, so we go on the wall, and start the defence. Up goes the siege and we're holding him off. A couple more enemy arrive but we think nothing of it, then a hand full of our faction arrive, and then some really weird stuff started to happen, like the enemy put away their siege and come to the door. I really wish I recorded the session because the next thing I see is someone who I won't name, but his back side hurts from sitting on a ruby throne, ambush his way through the door then make his way up to the wall where I was ignoring other members of the faction I belong to along the way.

Way before then we suspect something fishy was going on in that campaign and after what happened during the keep defence, it's almost certain that there is massive corruption between factions within that campaign, and my friend believes it's pandemic across all campaigns.

So my question is, how much corruption is in the campaigns and is ZOS doing anything about it?

AP farming across factions has been done for a while now..

    PC EU
    PvP only
  • stewart.leslie76b16_ESO
I'm not disputing AP farming, but to do it to specifically stop other people getting emperor then that takes it to a different level. Anyone can become emperor (terms and conditions apply)!

This is in EU. I would expect this kind of behaviour in another game and for other factions trying to stop another faction from getting Emp, but your own faction going out their way to stop others in their own faction for the silliest of reasons!? ZOS must know something is going on.

this happens in deserted campaigns. PvErs, or PvPers who don't want to actually fight people and only care about AP, will go to low pop campaigns and work with other factions to farm AP and keep the buff server.

it went down since buffs from PvP no longer affect one in PvE, but im sure it still goes on.

No this was not AP farming, this was specifically to stop someone someone getting emperor. And you can tell by the questionable tactics employed that there was communication between the offending parties.

in any case, I advise you to go to another campaign. No sense in wasting your time there. Playing with people like that is not worth it.

This happens on all campaigns on all platforms. Truth is ESO gamemasters don't care enough to do anything about it. The company is still making money and content is still being funded. They basically set an environment up that is easily abused and have no methods of enforcement or even guidelines for that matter. If someone asks me whether to get into this game strictly for a PvP interest I would tell them to not bother as it is the *** child of ESO support

This doesn't happen on pop locked campaigns. Why don't you try to earn a real emperor title instead of getting it on some abandoned campaign that no one plays?

Because of the crap you described, the "Former Emperor" title is an immediate sign of a scrub. 90% of the people who use the title are far from worthy of it.

    no need to be condescending.

and you are correct, most of the former emperors did not even honestly earn it. the title is indeed a joke. But there are those that did earn it honestly, which is what the OP is trying to do; only they are being stopped by players that would rather trade emp than PvP.

I had been trying for emp in BwB NA pc and hell i was even first but in AD the big groups said i had to pay them for me to even get help and push so I gave that up quick. So ya corruption is high, i find it dumb that to even get emp you cant even play pvp the way it was intended to be played, you either gotta get a dushey group of guys who ONLY care about AP farming to help you, or you have to repair walls all the time or heal a dumb zerg, you call that someone who should be crowned an emp? No. Emp should be revamped big time, make it somthing that you honestly work for with skill not getting a farm together or to build a wall. There are very few people who have gotten emp from playing all day, it sucks when guys like me who had nevr gotten emp are being made to pay groups to push you or to have to farm in a tower all day thats not fun pvp at all, i woulsnt even call it pvp its sad

Emp should be awarded to someone in the top 100 randomly, and the higher up you are on the leaderboard the more of a chance you have at being emp
    1st place = 50% Chance
    2nd place = 10%
    3rd = 5%

    Down to 100th place = 0.1%

@Sanct16, @s7732425ub17_ESO and @Cody (sorry Cody for putting you with the other 2)

I know my original post was long, so it seems you forgot what was in the opening paragraph. Not sure how you got to me was chasing emp as I clearly stated my friend. Also you seemed to skip the part where he moved from a more active server to a less active due to prepubescent childish behaviour I believe I put.

And besides, people are coming forward stating something like this is going on in all campaigns but ZOS seemed to not care. What @Styxiii describes sounds closer to what I think is going on where groups are closing down part of the game forcing people to consider to purchase what is nothing more then an achievement, costume and a dye.

The bottom line is they can make all the changes they like to PvP and balancing, but it is all for nothing where the reality is far more insidious as this effects not only the achievement hunters but those PvPers that want to get to the top without resorting to underhanded tactics. I'm also finding it very disturbing that ZOS is not stepping forward to either confirm or deny.
