What class/skill line/weapons is the most fun to play?

Hey,

So I'm coming back to ESO after five (?) months and couldn't get into my level 24 sorcerer. I found the combat stale (Dual wield) and I didn't understand what was going on in the story. Therefor, I'm going to make a new character. What class, skills, or weapons should I choose?

Bonus question - I would like to use my Xbox One controller, but how big of a disadvantage will it give me?

I originally posted this on /r/ESO but the sub doesn't have a lot of people that comment. I hope I'll get a response here.

Its kind of up to you what you enjoy most. Also, keep in mind level 24 doesnt always give you the best picture of your capabilities as a class. Especially a sorc, to me, shined after i got past level 30.

Sorcerers often use a destro staff as well or resto staff (if youre a magic sorc) so that would round out your skills. Stamina im sorry i dont know :(

If you want to go back to the beginning though pick a class that looks fun to you and then look at some youtubers or streamers to help you round out your ideas. @Deltia has some good builds for pve people starting out that might give you some guidance. Even just looking at the gameplay might help you decide what looks like fun.

Ps: lots of people use the xbox controller (or the pro version) i personally am more used to pc gaming though and i find the ui limiting so i ditched mine  rip my carpal tunnel. But no, its pretty well supported now. If you like the console feel better go for it.

This is opinion oriented for sure but for me it's as follows:

Class: Templar (biting jabs is melee fun at it's finest, good solo class, nice shields)
Weapon: Two Handed (critical charge and wrecking blow hit hard. Not a bad ability in the entire skill tree)
Armor: Medium (best armor passives by far )

If you are more of a ranged dps go with a bow and roll a kahjiit nightblade.

templar get's his best skills at early levels. but he will keep getting *** in the arse by ZOS.
magicka sorc is quite slow at start but is ZOS it's petchild so it's getting more overpwered as we continue patches.
NB is a fun way to play but due to the playstyle and people can't L2P it will get continued to nerf(p.s. all the nerf cries about the NB didn't adress the mayor issue/broken mechanic(s) a NB has)
DK steady as she goes past lvl 10. early levels might be hardest becuase the chain, giant fist and spiked armor aren't the best abilty's to start with. the 2nd abilty's in the tree's are fine though

Even with nerfs is it still a good class?

The real question is what do u like using swords and bows or using magic

Next what do you want sneaky assassin, tanks damage dealer, spell slinger or paladin

All 4 classes deal great damage after this update none will fall very far behind in pve

In pvp the nightblades era is officially over they reign pretty long buy these nerfs will hurt and dk or sorc will be flavor of the month after thieves guild

If you thinking of making a nb nows a good time since you won't see a million clones of you
    CP-750 orc nighblade ebonheart NA
    Dark elf sorc ebonheart
    Orc templar
    Dark elf Dragon knight
    Redguard warden

If you play the game long enough you will most likely end up making all 4 classes which is a way to avoid having to play a class who turn it is too get "nerfed" , you get to play the best class no matter what happens lol, but race is another matter unless they put race change in the crown store, which i hope they never do.
