Do you put all points in one bucket when leveling in PVE or do you spread the wealth and re-roll lat

jbrady3324
I am going for my first build and I am curious if people typically put all their points in one bucket or do they go for a more 80/20 (say 50 STAM and 14 Health) and then re-roll later? In my case, it will be a primarily PVE build until much later in the game. So would it be smarter to have a more balanced attack when leveling or is it cool to just go all one bucket from the getgo?

I go for 100% for whatever resource I plan on using.
Food should cover your health issues.

I put everything in one stat (either magicka or stamina) when leveling new characters. But I already have a master crafter who can provide everything they need to my new characters (armour sets, buff food, potions) and a lot of champion points.
As you don't have this when leveling your first character, it could be usefull to spend some points on health. But there is no such thing as a perfect ratio, just go ahead and try for yourself. If you feel that your health is to low, put points there the next time you level up, if you're running out of your main damage ressource in combat, put points there. Later on resetting your attribute points is relatively cheap, so you can revert all mistakes you might do while leveling.

    All into magica or stam.

Use blue food with health and primary stat.

3 enchants for health, rest in primary stat. I use enchants for a bit more health. More time killing, less time healing.

On a new character with no backup support from more advanced characters, I would tune how the points are allocated based on game play. Many characters will start out needing a mix of magicka and stamina, depending on weapon, and could have survivability issues at the start.

If you are taking skills that require magicka, go ahead and put points into magicka. If you are using a weapon that requires stamina, in addition to the magicka skills, put points into stamina. If you are dying a lot, put it into health. Whatever resource you seem to be running out of during combat, push that one. Your options are limited at the start, so just align your point spending with the skills you have access to.

As your character advances, you will want to pick between magicka and stamina and not try to split between them. Some skill morphs will change the resource that is important for that skill. If you find yourself liking the magicka skills, stay away from stamina weapons and skills that use, or are based upon, stamina or weapon damage. If you are liking the weapons and stamina play, shift your focus to those skills that use stamina.

You will eventually want to "respec" the character by getting a refund on attribute points and skill points. This will cost in the neighborhood of 1000 gold around level 10, but it will allow you to realign your points once you know what you want to do. With the current game balance, you will want to eventually put everything into magicka or stamina.

As was mentioned earlier, you can use food and drink to build health, magicka, and stamina. The character will pick up food and beverage recipes that they can learn. These can be used to make food that will increase the attribute, or drinks that will allow those attributes to recover faster. Early recipes will only do one attribute and only one food or drink can be active at a time. Focus on problem areas where you are running out.

You will also want to keep an eye out for armor with enchantments that benefit you. Enchantments can boost the attributes. At lower levels, I tend to use health enchantments on my armor for survivability. Later in the game, you can better tune how the armor boosts your character's power.

Edit: Don't assume your character is cast in stone as you build it. You will want to change things as you get into the game and solidify your play style and what you like to do. That is normal.

When leveling, put all points into your primary resource. You don't need to start stacking health until you get into veteran ranks, and even then, only up to a certain point. Most people stop at 17-18k max health for a damage role.
