You should be able to lock items in you inventory and bank so that you don't accidentally dismantle or deconstruct them.

What do you all think?.

Since consoles dont get addons they should definitely implement this into the base game.. a simple thing to do and it will reduce the amount of tickets people are submitting trying to retrieve their accidentally deconned gear.

I agree, because deconstructing items is just too easy and mistakes happen. Oh and this will get locked of course because petitions aren't allowed -- make a poll about this with a simple Yes or No and it'll do wonders.

I agree.

I assumed for a very long time that only items in my characters inventory were available to be deconstructed, I was very surprised the first time I realised items in the bank could be deconstructed too.

Luckily I only craft on 1 character so most of the time items in their inventory aren't a problem, but if I want to keep anything in the bank (e.g. for an alt whose not the right level yet) I have to make sure I move it straight to a mule to avoid accidentally destroying it.

YES!

Due to a lag while I was at the clothing table it caused me to deconstruct two Light Trinimacs v16 Purple Robes! I was a bit upset to the point I wanted to write to support to see if I could have them returned, but I had no proof so figured it was a lost cause. It was not done by accident at my hand, but rather the lag!

PLEASE give us a lock!

I see this same thread a lot. We all accidentally do it but maybe it's just that we need to slow down.

What's to say you forget to lock the item....or lock the wrong item?
Not that it's a bad idea, just sharing my thoughts.

Petitions are not allowed per COC. If you don't edit your title, expect this thread to be locked/deleted.

This issue is just part of the general morass that is the ESO UI......many shortcomings. Perversely, the lack of features is sold as a 'clean' interface.
