[Sugestion] Crafting, Upgrading Traits and Researching

It would be quite interesting an trial and error system when researching upgraded traits. Basic trait researching should always have a 100% chance for a successful research. The other levels should yield less chances. So the more trait levels you have researched the, the bigger the chance for errors. What should happen when you fail an research? I'd say just add some extra time to that particular research.

What would be the point in using upgraded item traits? Adding one, two or more extra layers of power. Insignificant. But will keep crafting research going even further. Note you cannot progress to next level if you haven't finished all current level traits.

How it should work? Take an item with level 1 reinforced trait and then research it for a chance to get an level 2 reinforced trait. If you find a level 2 or higher reinforced trait then you get even better chances.

Itemization. You can get any level of trait on an item. All random. You can either deconstruct for a chance to get a higher level trait item, sell it, research it or just use it. Same as always. You can upgrade an item trait level in the same way you can improve item quality but only if you have the skills. To upgrade you will need to get your hands on a number of items. For example for level 2 reinforced you will need 2-3 level 2 reinforced trait stones. For level 3 you will need level 3 reinforced trait stones but more.

Another idea is adding limited edition ultimate traits. Very rare and very powerful, you can only have one such trait active at a time but there is a catch. In order to achieve such rare traits you have to follow a series of quests, follow clues, uncover secrets, explore or just fight powerful enemies and acquire all trait fragments! Shards should be scattered across all Tamriel, even new zones! Once you have all shard fragments you can combine them and research the final item. But this isn't over yet. You still have to work your way to find the secret crafting station where you can forge the final item. The idea is to have a trait much powerful than the current traits we already have in game. Did I said that you have a limited time to find all shards? You have just 1 month! Every new month you can start over and work your way to get your hands on another trait. Trait could be replaced with a Glyph as well. Or why not both.

New skill lines both passive and active! Skills should help find more resources on a node, see hidden deposits, chance to craft an item with a better trait level or quality level.
