Tamriel Master Cave Delver - Oh no

I just now realized to get this I need to do the caves in Cyrodiil ;-;
I've been doing everything else Solo just for this one title (Explorer), since it actually feels earned compared to simple story or guild titles
I would try the Cyrodiil caves if I didn't get ganked before even getting close to them XD
After two more Caves in Malabal Tor, I just have Reapers March and then... Cyrodiil...

For those with the achievement and no friends, who also lives in Australia (to understand my pain)- what should I do?
Pray that there are other players heading there when I am or just keep at it until I knock them off one by one hoping my Alliance 'locks down' a region when needed?

On another note, Reapers March is all I need to do for my Tamriel Trailblazer achievement too- so that's something for me to look forward to I guess XD

Choose a low population campaign that's mostly owned by your faction. Or just sneak and gank anyone who tries to steal your delve bosses :D

Just choose a campaign that is dominated by your faction (guest campaign)

Move to others as needed each day
You'll die and it'll get frustrating waiting for spawns but ZOS doesn't seem to understand that PvE players would like a PvE version of Cyrodil.

I even think this would cut down on Cyrodil lag

Low population is a good idea, but pretty much all servers show one bar for each faction XD

    @NewBlacksmurf

I don't mind dying or waiting for spawns too much, but yeah- a PVE Cyrodiil for people that almost never touch PVP would be very nice indeed. The only downside I see is Zergs will no longer have free targets that are the PVE players

It's often harder to find fights in Cyrodiil than it is to avoid them. More and more players just zerg, and zone chat will tell you where it's at most of the time. Find a low-pop campaign and just go for it. Set yourself up for anti-ganking. It's not like the mobs are going to be hard to kill with a PvP-oriented setup. It's fun :)

    That isn't a downside.
It bothers me that ppl feel it's a good thing.

It's also very sad that ppl seek to hunt non-hostile players. It's like ZOS has a mental disease to encourage this behavior. It's sickening

I'm a PvEer and I've completed all the Cyrodiil delves (and got all the sykshards - yes, even the ones behind enemy gates- following the strategy people mentioned above. ) Just remember that Cyrodiil delve bosses aren't like bosses from other zones: only one is "active" in a dungeon at a given time, so don't waste your time standing around waiting for the others to spawn; kill the one that is around until the one you need spawns. It can be a major pain, but it's doable.

If you can enter the campaign in the off hours of the server (after midnight). And be very careful in the Cracked Wood Cave as it's a major grinding spot in the game.

Do NOT sit and stare. Delve bosses have certain rules about spawning that you should know. If there's 2 bosses, only 1 will be up at any given time. After you kill him, one of the bosses will respawn some minutes later - maybe the other one you still need, maybe the same one you just killed. You need to kill him again if that's the case. At least one cave has 5 bosses, and you may have to go back and forth killing them until you get them all.

If you're on the PC and don't care about exploring by yourself, the add-on PublicDungeonChampions will give you the location of all bosses and mark them as done or not done.

There are hardly enemy players at caves 99% of the time. They mostly travel from keep to keep and go into a straight line to the next enemy keep.

I did all dolmens and caves and hardly had any issues. Only at the quest hubs, but that is what made them fun and exciting for me.

Just go and don't be afraid. There is very very very little chance some guy will sit near the entrance 24/7 to gank someone.

The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

I did that one the hard way. Only got ganked what, four, five times? But that's not the worst part about cyrodil dwelves... the worst parts is that you often need multiple bosses to clear it, and in some, that last one you need just won't spawn for -hours- (because there is one timer per dwelve, and which boss spawns is completely random... in dwelves with one boss, that's no issue, in dwelves with two, chances are good you'll get it in short order, but... there are those with three or more bosses, and those can turn into a huge pain in the a... uhm... posterior)

It helps to sneak a lot.

It helps to go dwelve-dwelving during times when the main population is dreaming of argonian maids.

It helps doing it in a campaign where your faction controls the map with an iron fist.

It helps if you just don't care about getting ganked. If it happens, shrug, respawn, choose another dwelve in a different direction, come back to the one you got it in another time.

Of course, like everything else in matters cyrodil, having PK-happy friends along helps most.

It's not that bad. Most aren't going to waste the time sitting in a delve hoping for enemies. If you run into someone, try just holding block or sheathing weapons, they may very well be just a pve guy doing the same as you.

Be aware if the npcs in front of the delve or at the begining of it are gone, then there may be someone in there.
    Stealth going in and out.

Cracked Wood Cave will probably be the worst as it's a grind spot.

Yeah I was attacked many times while trying to get this achievement. But I was playing with another person, which obviously helps loads. And we also got the hero achievement at the same time by doing all the Cyro quests. I'd suggest trying to find an aussie guild and seeing if you could group to complete dungeons. Also trying very low population campaigns. Good luck! :)

just go to the buff server for whatever faction you are in. Cyrodil delves are easy to solo....as long as you have the time to wait for the bosses to spawn

OP I worked on this achievement with my NB. I am a PvPer so I can give you some pretty solid advise about how to handle bosses and avoiding players.

    1. Choose a campaign that has the whole map your color. This makes it easier for travel :)

    2. Never assume your alliance is using the delves. I have seen a Yellow controlled map with Reds farming its Cracked Wood Cave.

    3. Start with your home alliances caves. Here is a great, interactive map. Here's a static map if you need it. If your on PC, there is probably an Add-on for that. If you're Xbox1/PS4, then use the urls I posted. When your in Cyrodiil-- your map of Cyrodiil won't show PvE locations unless you are at the alliance wayshrine. Hence the links to help show the way.

    4. Read up Tostiee's boss location guide. Pay attention to what this poster says, because not all of the bosses spawn the same way.

    Avoiding other Players;

    1. Ride to the cave on horse back, when you get close to the entrance stealth up. Enter the cave while your stealthed.

    2. When you get inside the cave, make sure you are still stealth. And carefully observe your surroundings for any noise a player would make.

    3. Check for dead mobs. This is a tall tale sign you are not a lone in the cave. If you don't see any enemies at first, while in stealth creep down til you see a path into the cave with enemy mobs. If you are a NB, you can just Cloak and peace out down the cave, avoiding the mobs to the boss or stalk the enemy player.

    4. If there is a enemy player engage or come back another day. If not then complete the delve as normal.

    5. Whenever you leave the cave, stealth up and exit the door. When you load into the overworld of Cyrodiil, while in stealth just move away from the cave til your away enough to get on horse back without being seen.

Bonus: Some caves, like Cracked Wood Cave, have alternate entrances.

You'll be coming back to these. Some of the bosses won't be there. So practice up on moving through stealth. If you do happen to dispatch a enemy player successfully, DO NOT SCREW AROUND. Finish up clearing the delve and make like a ghost and disappear quickly. That player can always come back to hunt you down!

Seconding (and third and fourthing) many of the suggestions above about low-pop servers, staying off the marked paths, etc.

Also, if you see a player from another faction, blocking with your weapon is the Cyrodiilian white flag of truce. Doesn't always work of course, but I've had some success with it. Even farmed a cave with a blue once because we were both there to just get snit done and didn't want to fight.

When you die from a player at a cave btw, you have to respawn at your allianced owned keeps or alliance base. If the campaign you choose to work delves in has few keeps under your alliances control, be very wary of enemys. Because if you die you'll have to travel all the way back to that cave again.

So, choose wisely whether or not you can or SHOULD engage in a fight with a player.

I've done all the delves/skyshards/dolmens/quest hubs in Cyrodiil on 3 characters right now and my DK is getting ready to work on them too.

You are unlikely to find PvPers in the delves unless they are going for Blessings of War, in which case they will run in, kill the boss and run out. If you meet a player from another alliance they are more likely to be there for the same reason you are. I have a friend who manages to befriend a player from another faction each time he goes to Cyrodiil to do the PvE.

There's a lot of good advice in this thread, and you will find your own way of going about it in the process. Have fun in Cyrodiil!

That these last caves/bosses for the Explorer achievement are in Cyrodiil is the reason that I only have the Tamriel Hero achievement (on 6 characters, but almost 8!). This, and the horrible spawn rate of some of the bosses in these caves. I don't want to hang around all too long in an enemy's territory, you know. Most of my characters do have all Cyrodiil skyshards, but not all bosses completed, though.

Just like what everyone else said. I'm a PVE player and had no trouble clearing all delves, dolmens, and skyshards in Cyrodiil. You just have to play it smart. Play at off peak hours in a campaign dominated by your faction. If you do get ganked its not the end of the world just respawn and go to a different area
