ZOS why does this game not reward you for end game content?

All the endgame items are simply blah. A turog's pact staff with helm is better than the maelstrom destro staff. Crafted gear is the meta... Where's the progression what's the point of running the new trial if the previous gear is mostly better. And why are there no epic sets or epic drops that make players want to grind the difficult content to get them? The most desired things are mostly titles. No items or sets really look that cool everybody is in the same crafted gear. Where's the progression? Where is an epic weapon drop that jumps of the screen and everyone wants to get? I am flawless conquerer on ps4 and don't enderstand why the trails are not more rewarding and there is no excitement for epic loot that is the strongest in the game and also epic looking cosmetically.

I am not the only one who thinks this please consider this in your game my friends are giving up on the game because of this.

This game is fun but needs to improve.

Crafted gear with supporting pve BOP items is the meta. if ur running around in all crafted gear your severly gimped.

Yes we should have more viable gear. thieves guild DLC has no gear for me either. but meh... it's cheaper for me if they just keep things the way they are. honestly tired of being forced to grind to get the best stuff. rather have it. and have a few months to spare to smash faces with it.

Actually I like the notion that gear isn't that important.

I'm with you.As long as I can get through whatever quest I am doing,I have no need for epic gear,or stuff like that. But then,I am not a PvPer.They want a lot more, better and better. There's no "enough" for them.Once you've beaten the top players in PvP you need another fix.More and more.
I dont mean this rudely,or anything like that, but it's true.

Spell power cure best healing set in the game.

As I nb spc is the best magic DPS set in the game seeing as I can keep 100% uptime with funnel health

    Tormentor is interesting
Essence thief all divines might be best in slot stam DPS set but can't test it yet.
Imperium is a really good tanking set with 100 cp in bastion on my nb tank it's a 15k shield for my group

The real problem is prison sets are bad wgt has good sets

I'm actually glad there isn't some bs OP item that you can only get through endless hours of grinding. I'd be cool with really good gear for endgame stuff only if it didn't take forever toget.

The cool gear drops from early levels...too bad there is no a mechanic that would allow to upgrade the gear level - if there would be such mechanic then the end game would start form the tutorial prison quest.

Aside from not updating trials/group dungeons, I am actually fine with how there is a lack of 'endgame' content--that is, content that you can only do at max level.

If they continue to produce zones like Wrothgar (this is the far future mind you), where the character is scaled, then endgame as we typically know it will no longer be necessary. Because by that point there will be enough selections of zones with their respective quests/dungeons/trials that it won't feel like such a treadmill and you have the option to simply pick the activity that appeals to you. Endgame becomes less "do X dungeon to get Y gear/weapon" and more "what do I want to do next?". But this is with the assumption that gear is appropriately spread out and not exclusive to one play style.

Well so long as no mandatory gear grind is implemented, i'm sure adding a few pieces of gear will be harmless enough (assuming it doesn't succumb to power creep). But yeah, I like how they made gear feel not all that important in comparison to skill.

Lets see Ive 10 mill AP, 7 mill Gold, and Alliance Rank 29, so I should get some best gears in the game? Everybody would whine like no tomorrow, when I rofl-stomp them and leave the game soon after.

I hope Housing is gonna bring a ton of new endgame progression/reward, cosmetic and convenient stuff mostly.

This game was originally designed with Cyrodiil being the only endgame along with Alliance ranks being endgame progression similar to how Darkage of Camelot was. There were going to be no vet ranks or going to the enemy alliances zones that you could travel to for PVE. For this reason they made crafted gear the strongest so there was no hard to get gear grind, just alliance rank progression after you reached level 50 and got your gear.

PVE players complained and many things changed in beta. even Alliance ranks progression rewards were drastically changed so the PVEer wouldn't have to PVP to progress his character. Anyways that's why you see gear the way it is.

What irritates me the most is when I am in Wrothgar, Cyrodil or IC on my V16 and all I get from drops/chests is V15 stuff.... especially the set gear. I don't care that it is blue, it should be at least purple but at least I could upgrade if it was just V16....like training

I mean really!!!!! V15.....Pretty much useless, use for decon crap......
And if you do manage to have the stars align and the RNG gods bless you and get a V16 item..it's got a worthless trait on it....

This us what we get for "end game" loot on a V16 character...very uninspiring....why bother?

Pvp is the reason the end game stuff isn't amazing, we see it already with monster sets and vmsa, the whole "I want that awesome gear but its not fair that I have to do the pve work to get it" due to this unless they make end game gear that is only useful in pve there will never be anything too amazing to get and so no point in things like (old timers may get this) everquest one epic weapon quests.

It's why group PvE/trials needs it's own currency/token system. I know they are adding monster sets for gold but all that means is someone who grinds some crappy public dungeon is more likely to get them faster than those doing vet dungeons or trials.

It has nothing to do with pvp players not wanting to pve nor with competitive guilds. Competitive guilds push hard and leadership burns out then the guild fades from the game when no one steps up to help out/take over.

It's has everything to do with the loot tables being too rare on V16 gear in end game areas.

It seems like they're going for the approach that Guild wars 2 is, that content is more important than gears. In gear depended games such as WoW, there's really no need to go outside of the major city ones you've hit max level, all you do is stand in one spot, move around a bit to get to the raid instance if you're not doing looking for group, and that's it. Everything around the end-game is around gear, and once a new raid tire is up, the gear you have is more or less obsolete.

I like how TESO and Guild wars 2 is doing it, the gear is only giving marginal improvements, and the world is the content, and they're adding and expanding on that. It might be that I'm just a grumpy old sod of a gamer, but I've grown tired of the constant running after stat improvement, I'm enjoying myself more if my gear is decent and doesn't get thrown out the window every 2 months or so due to new raids, and that the world is actually worth exploring.

As for crafted gear being the best, I like that concept as well. It's very annoying when the game has a robust crafting system, but doesn't make use of it. Again, look at WoW, the crafting system there is an absolute joke. You can only use 3 of any player crafted items, and that's it. And the way you craft these items are the most idiotic concept in any game (which I didn't expect from an experienced game company like Blizzard). What you do is take a bunch of materials and craft them once a day into materials that can be used to make terrible items. Yes you also need some other rather annoying to get items to upgrade those crafted items to be any decent. And all of this is tied up nicely to a lockout, so you can't do any more than at most 10 materials per day. So TESO has a MUCH better crafting system as in it being actually useful.

I rather like what they've done with TESO, it's not perfect but they've come a long way since the beginning that's for sure, and I was there when it started. The game has certainly its flaws but at least they're willing to make changes, as they have as well.

But we have plenty of casual devs, this explains it all
Raising floors and lower ceilings by zos standards has created an iron maiden.
No matter how well you played, when the game is over, the king and pawn go back in the same box.

Bump. It's an easy concept and they could make the game a lot more exciting. Hopefully arena pvp and battlegrounds will save the game.. But worthy rewards and gear will still be needed. I hope they (ZOS) do the right thing.
