Templar Mobility?

Is there no way for a magicka templar to get the major expedition buff, by himself?

The only one i know of, is Mist Form. But with no regen, it is a no-go. Rapid Maneuvers also nogo since it is Stam.

Am i missing any options here?

Speed pots, they cost around 200g for mats each.

I use quick cloak sometimes but for pvp it's unwise to burn stamina like that

Speed Pots? Never thought of that one. But do not think that combines with restore Magicka does it? On all my Magicka chars, i use Spell Crit + Health + Magicka Pots. When duelling or 1vX'ing, i might use Tristat. But they are too expensive for "everyday" usage.

Problem with Speed Pots, are that they are not really "on demand". Or at least a heavy cooldown.

Don't really need it in Combat, as my playstyle is quite tanky and "hold my ground". But really need it for that in between stuff. Running around a keep or just smaller distances within a keep fight, is killing me. I get so freaking frustrated running just 10-15 seconds in normal speed (running - not sprinting), that i find myself tapping the sprint button, taking that precious Stam away. And then BAM - i get ganked, and almost out of stam = death.

My best option right now, feels like Mist Form. Comes in handy with that 10% regen bonus for slotting it as well.

    So there are ;

    Speed Pots
    Quick Cloak (Stam)
    Mist Form (No Regen)
    Retreating Maneuvers

Anything else that could be viable?

Here's what they should do...replace the top-rez passive of the templar resto line with:

    The Speed of Light
"Grant Minor Expedition too all party members affected by a Restoring Light ability for 2 seconds."

In a single skill you can:
    - stop all the "Nerf-Temp-Rez-Bot" spammers
    - add class mobility
    - make both stamplars and magplars that utilize Inner Focus more versatile by allowing them to rebuff with a bit more ease
    - incentivize party members to stay "in your house" with a nice speed buff inside your radiant aura/purifying ritual
    - add a visible buff to your major mending as well

    You can also try

    mdpfalb.png
V15 is like 14-17 seconds? I forget. It can be paired up with a secondary effect. Sorry I forget which ones :s

But back to Invis. potions, they have gotten my Templar out of a couple of sticky situations. They are great to use when you need to get into stealth and need to stay there. But you only get 1 shot at it. If your invis potion is broken by attacks you have to stand your ground.

You can regen while in mist form with channeled focus.

It's five seconds, which is roughly the same time as most other Major Expedition buffs.

You can get Magicka back while in Mist Form by using Channeled Focus, since that skill doesn't work on regen.

Those options aren't really viable either if you're a magicka templar.

Speed Pots can only be made to give stamina back + crit as secondary effect. It's not wise to use for a magicka build in actual fights, since you loose out on major regeneration buffs, magicka back , spell power or immovability. Speed Potions can be cool for escaping purposes tho, if combined with invisibility.

Mist Form means you have to play vampire. That's suicide on any competitive campaign as templar figthing upfront. Camoflage Hunter sneak attackers behind every rock ready to instagibb you + everyone using Dawnbreaker. You would have to combine it with Radiant Magelight to prevent insta-dying constantly which means loosing skill slots. Also gap closer spam and roots preventing you from actual moving while in Mist.

Quick Cloak costs to much stamina to be used frequently in combat as magicka build. But out of these mediocre options it's my favourite.

Retreating Maneuver is to costly solo for magicka builds period. But great on live if your buddy or team mate is a stamina build and can pop it for you in a fight. Sadly Rapid/Retreating Maneuver buff will be cancelled next patch if you use a smart heal. So it wont help magicka templars any more, since smart heals is the only type of defence they have.

Bow passives also gives expedition if you dodge. Never tried it on a magicka build. Seems to depressing using a weapon you have 0 synergy with or other benefit from, only to get access to a normal buff IF you burn stamina on dodge.

Wrobel just doesn't want templars to have mobility in a game that requires mobility to do well in PvP. Simple as that.

Quick cloak and purple food, 14k max stam if you pop it wisely its extremely usefeul plus 20% less from AOE's. Mist form means one shot dawnbreakers and camo hunter. Plus you can't cast in it.

This is gonna hurt the most. But I still think I'll slot Retreating Maneuvers as my only Stam dump. And actually, I'm thinking of giving Rapid Maneuvers a go for the minor speed boost.

Um, sprint? Nm, you are not asking for mobility.

Let me guess, you cant just smash heal button but have to move away from damage now?

Magicka templars use tri-food better than most classes; that upgraded stam pool means life or death pending on your location.

Quick cloak is still the best option, especially since you can utilize that bar for execute/ultimates dmg.

Come next patch might see well-fitted gear, stam enchants with Sprint.
