Per request from the help team that cannot fix this issue, I am posting the issue here in case the devs lost the request already sent them by the help team.

I have been dealing with this issue since November with no fixes from devs yet. In November I achieved the Deadly Engineer achievement but the META for All Death achievements did not update with it. I opened a ticket at that time and was given this advice:

... It has been 2 days and the issue has not resolved itself. Additionally we have gone through the instance and done the achievement again and it is still not working. I have done the log on and off and on and off with no resolution. Re-completed the achievement with no resolution.

Many thanks for the report, though this is the end of what you and we can do. This information will be sent to the developers for review and correction. We are unable to disclose how we will correct this, we would have to suggest checking the forums for any updates regarding this issue.

Since then I have completed the last remaining Meta Achievement for the All Death challenges and have NOT been awarded the Meta along with the team I completed the challenges with. Because of that I re-opened the ticket to see how this will be fixed. Even though I was told that the Devs already have this info I was told to post here - so I am doing that now.

There has been no update, and there has been no resolution. Furthermore, I have checked VARIOUS forums and NOTHING I have seen in the last 3 months has stated anything about this, including patch notes. I will attach a screenshot of both items, my deadly engineer completed with date/timestamp and the pic from last year the day after we got the achievement, when I first opened the ticket.

What I don't understand is, we have RE-COMPLETED the achievement MANY times in 3 months, is there no way to just "delete" my progress on the ONE achievement so we can redo the achievement and re-trigger it for completion if updating it as completed in the meta this is too hard/time-consuming for the dev team?

    Can you please let us know when the most recent re-completion was of Deadly Engineer? We see when it was originally granted, but it may help to be able to put as much information as possible for our engineers.

    A little bump from me as well. I'm an achievement hunter myself, and I'd be horrified if something like that ever happened to me. I hope yours gets fixed soon.

    I hope you get this resolved, but having been stuck with a bugged character in another game for a ridiculously long time, I can recommend the Better Business Bureau. They're a non-government group who help to resolve issues like this. Basically it's embarrassing for companies to be complained about and complaints and outcomes are all published on their website.

    Failing that, this is a product you paid for which isn't working for you as intended. While your bug is hardly crippling it is a legitimate problem you've properly reported which hasn't been fixed. You're legally entitled to a fix and there'll be a government agency or small claims court you could complain to.

    Obviously there is no single law because we don't all live in the same country. And despite any disclaimers "agreed" to in the TOS players are not necessarily restricted ZO's local jurisdiction.

    But it's one of the most basic tenets of consumer law. If you pay for a product then you're entitled to receive it and in good working order.

    Wikipedia is a good starting place for anyone genuinely interested in the topic.

    The bug was first reported some months ago. Has been reported again. It would literally be a matter of at most a few minutes work to fix for this player - just changing a database entry. They paid for the game. They're legally entitled to the fix.

    If you purchased a car and found out it has a defective turn signal (won't stay engaged), it would be something that demands attention because it's faulty. It doesn't mean the car itself isn't functional, but it is a feature which is expected to work, and one that you paid for when you purchased the vehicle.

    The Meta Achievement that's failing to update for this player isn't quite the same level of problem, but it's still a problem that has a relatively easy solution, and garners good will toward the gaming company. Why wouldn't they want to solve this type of problem for the players, especially if they only require some data changes and extremely minimal time to accomplish? It might even be possible to create a one time script that can re-validate everyone's achievements to make sure they're all applied correctly.

    Using legal language like "reasonable person" makes you sound suspiciously like an employee trying to deceive customers into believing they don't have rights which they do. A common tactic for big businesses.

    The fact stands - all customers, including the OP, have a right to play the game minus bugs. Because bugs are the product not working as intended. Bugs will arise. That's understandable and some degree of patience on the part of players is demanded. But four plus months for something this simple is definitely stretching it.

    Yes such a script would definitely be possible. Depending on how the meta achievements have been coded, though, it might be quite time consuming. So unless there's other players complaining about broken meta achievements that could be wasteful.

    Fixing it for this single player or even just this single achievement for everyone would be a very small job.

    That feels when you have to level another toon just to do the achievements because ZOS doesn't give a crap. Please get some lessons from Blizzard - those guys know how to fix stuff. I was nice, but you are a massive disappointment at this stage in the game.

    I gave up on ZOS and just leveled a different character to get the achievement done - I completed it last night. I am sad and sorry they can't figure out how to fix one small achievement. Thanks for all your suggestions and GL if you ever have an achievement screwed up for you.
