Performance worse than before

I came back after almost a year. I actually have a better video card now but I'm experiencing huge fps drops. They occur all the time even when I'm standing without doing anything to the point that even the sound stutters. I tried disabling and lowering all the video settings and the add ons. My drivers are updated. Is this a general issue or just my problem?! :/
And the infinite loading screens are still here :|

Game has been running fine for me. For a while I was experiencing fps drops and would have to relog to fix it for whatever reason. Here the last few weeks though game has been running fine. No telling what your problem is, but hopefully it gets resolved. I know how irritating that can be.

    Yep.

Can it be that the server connection got worse? I live in south america (not that it was a problem back then). But it doesn't look like it's related to the hardware (lowering the setting doesn't help at all). Not like I'm an expert or anything. But it's unplayable.

Latency and FPS are two different things.

Being in south america your latency is crap for sure.

Yes I know that, I always had and have 200ms. But could it be that now is affecting my fps somehow? Well thanks anyway. Aghh, I think I'll try a bit more and then move on to another game. >.<

EDIT: Meh, I take it back. Lowering the setting til the games looks like Nerverwinter Nights 1, fixes the problem. So yeah, that's horrible performance for me, since it was working fine on high settings a year ago.

Maybe it's which server and if you PvP a lot that the problems come in.

Wrobel said on the latest eso live that they dont want to remove the aoe caps because the big groups will die to fast. Emphasis on the big groups. So I woudln't hold my breath if I were you.

@cecibergesnrb18_ESO - My latency is worse than yours and i dont experience what you are experiencing,

I run at around 250 ping, fps at 40 - 60 in most situations...

In cyrodiil my latency can drop to 280 and up, and my fps in big fights drops to around 20 mostly.. not including the exceptions when it goes to 0.....

My game runs pretty smoothly most of the time.

Since Imperial City patch, I'm experiencing exactly the same.
FPS goes incredibly down, then after a few goes back to normal.
I tested it with two different computers, they both have this issue but with one is more noticeable.

I don't have infinite loading screens anymore, but for rarely in Cyrodiil.

I quit because of that a couple months ago, would be standing in Orsinium and get slideshow-FPS, Cyro was a dissaster to play, and infi loading screens also still, that combined with MONTHS before class balance changes (both my classes at the bottom of the barrel) made me say "*** IT"

might give it a try again with TG patch, but from what I'm reading on the forums, .... I'm not getting my hopes up

I just noticed that they raised the requirements for the game. When I bought it at launch my pc was between minimum and recommended, running at mid-high settings was doing very fine. Now I can't even play in low settings and I'm suddenly below min requirements.

Anyway, uninstalled. No reason to play like this.

For three months after launch (and during beta) I played on an AMD laptop APU which had a R7 and Athlon. I could run Skyrim on decent settings but ESO I had to have everything as low as possible. After the game dropped sub fee I returned with that same laptop for a month or two until the game started getting infinite load screens from objects never loading. I'm not sure if it's relating to the games performance decreases or if my laptop was just dieing at that point but on my current build, R9 380 FX 8320 I'm running a heavy SweetFX preset called Ultra Real Lighting and Colors at max resolution and settings with 30-60fps. I do get random stutters in main cities sometimes though but that may be due to the sweetFX preset.

@sparafucilsarwb17_ESO do you know what version or roughly when that patch came out? I want to take a closer look at the patch notes, compare them with any technical changes from the Imperial City patch.

I'm in the same situation as most others commenting on these topics, performance was great then a patch came along and introduced this weird behaviour of framerates dropping down to 10fps for a few seconds before returning to normal, and this keeps happening sometimes as often as a few times a minute.

I thought it was the Imperial City update that introduced the problem, but an update that affects lighting ties in with what I've noticed about braziers and other light sources sometimes triggering the framerate drop, especially when I've entered a delve or dungeon and there are several braziers or torches inside the entrance.

Which clearly shows, that Mr. Wrobel has not really grasped the impact zergs have on performance. At a point I thought, he might have grasped it, but if he actually would have, he would try all to get big groups resolved into many smaller ones. So he clearly has not got it yet, unfortunately.

It was like 1.2 or 1.3, I think.
It's my understanding that it wasn't the lighting, per se but at that time they also moved a lot of processes back to Server side from client side as an anti-bot measure.

As far as performance goes, I'm with you. IC brought me the fps drops and crashing in bigger fights in Cyro, which I didn't have much of before that update.

Yeah, been suffering from this as well. Was fine, then it patched and suddenly this started happening. Does it anywhere at anytime, even in character creation. It's kind of a bummer since I had no issues before, but I'm glad I can play regardless.

At least I know I'm not the only one.
