How do I keep getting ambushed in shadowy disguise?

Not sure if it's something I'm missing but it's bee happening A LOT in the last week. Never had this problem before. Now I'll be hitting shadowy disguise and someone will ambush onto me. It's happening constantly. Was something changed with shadowy disguise?
