Appearance changes from vampirism cannot be toggled off. Your best options are to keep yourself close to stage 1 to look more "human" or abandon vampirism altogether.

There's only the soul shriven skin to overlap it. Its not an improvement since you're still pasty white and people think you're a vamp anyways. There's also a new looking skin in thieves guild, but it's also pasty white with blue glowing eyes...

I think it would be cool to be able to hide your vampirism. There is at least one NPC who can do that in the game, so it could be possible.

Maybe it could be a "costume" awarded for doing the vampirism quest rather than buying the infection/blessing from the crown store and immediately becoming one without having to go through the quest. I think this way, it would be similar to the concept of having lesser versions of the things you can get by playing the game or crafting. (Not sure what the equivalent would be for WWs.)

    Just my 2 cents.

There is no valid reason to stay in stage 1 as a vamp.

Just take a helmet to cover up for face.

Unfortunately we are stuck with the worst strain of Vampirism, or so I've been told every time I've argued for less ugly Stage 1 vampires.

A vampire should be able to hide what he is from mortals or he will have to hide from mortals. It is a prerequisite for there to be any logical consistency in our interactions in the game world. It's plainly obvious even in stage 1 that we're vampires, logically that should cause us all kinds of problems with just about everybody from quest givers to merchants. Instead we walk up to the storefront or to the bank looking like an animated corpse, and it's cool. In the middle of a war caused by the Daedric Prince who created vampires, for crying out loud.

If a stage 1 vampire appeared like any other mortal, then there would be a great reason to stay in stage 1. it would be a great cap-stone passive at the end of the skill line.

Vampirism is an orphaned and bastardized skill line that never got the attention from the developers that a TES game deserves. It was half finished from the start and once the initial over powered batswarm phase was fixed it has been completely ignored.

Personally I think ESO's vampires are the best in the whole series. Though it would be nice for stage 1 and 2 to be a bit more subtle.

Why try and hide it? They should make some gothic style costumes to show off your pale skin. I am an orc, big white pale arms, long black hair, most of my armor is khadjit, except for gloves and shoulders, that I keep as minimum as possible.Ancient elf has the smallest shoulders in the game, and the imperial gloves don't have those weird bucklers on your elbows. Dyed superior blue, the set is awesome against pale white skin.

Welcome to the "why does ZoS hate vampires so much?" club. We've been begging for appearance changes since launch including the ability to look mortal, which the lore of this game as well as the evidence of multiple NPCs shows should absolutely be possible. Yet ZoS continues to ignore our pleas.

To be fair, you can rag out into wolfy form and nobody gives a damn either. Even in the town in Valenwood where everyone hates werewolves they're still your best friend.

I wouldn't mind there being penalties for morphing in front of people to make you think about where you're morphing, similar to stage 4 Team Edwards being attacked on sight.

Yay! Another place to complain that MY REDGUARD GOT VAMPIRISM AND IS PURPLE NOW.

Here's an image of someone else's Redguard vampire to show you what happens, but my Redguard is more purple than this one because he was darker to start with. This is also a later stage so a little more white. I'll spare you an image of him in his current state, he's getting the keep-helmet-on-at-all-times treatment right now and I really want to change his appearance...

    9JXflDG.png

Like I'm fine with going pale, but this isn't pale I don't even know what this is :( . I've shown people in-game what happened to him and had them laugh and decide vampirism + Redguard = horrific don't do it.

I know it's probably never going to change and I'm going to be a Purpleguard forever, but I can hope can't I? At least the bonus regen is nice...

Stage 1 should look mortal, stage 2 should look like what stage 1 looks like now and stage 3 should look like stage 2 and stage 4 should look like what stage 3 looks like, the current stage 4 skin is just revolting and why does a khajit's hair change colour? a Nord's or Imperial's or High Elves or a Dark Elves hair doesn't change colour when they become a vampire...that aint the worst part though, the worst part is why do the vampires wear so much makeup? they look EMO and I know where ZOS based them off of, the lack of fangs are a dead giveaway, that was a very poor design choice, I might as well not be an ESO style vampire and instead just make a vampire based character who uses the NB abilities to appear as a vampire and who is off a different vampire clan and not even bother with this wannabe form of vampirism we are stuck with.

I might create the "Cyrodillic Vampyrum Order" guild.... vampires who look like Mortals, we have Porphyilic Hemophilia none of this weak Noxiphilic Sanguivoria and we are real vampires who bite into the jugular of the enemy..we do not feed through a funnel.

Actually I think it was just so small on most Races that they wasn't too noticeable, b/c iirc Beast Race Vampires in Skyrim got ridiculously over-sized fangs (like there was a readily visible increase in fang size).

Anyways, I wish there was indeed a way to either entirely hide the Vamp appearance, or at least tone it down a lot. Vampires are supposed to be masters of Illusion and such, right? Why are they not capable of hiding their true appearance? Hell...make it a passive! It could be a late-line passive to indicate the time it might take a Vamp to learn how to do it. But I seriously miss my Khajiit's dark, stripey-whorly coat color/pattern (b/c not only does going Vamp bleach you, it pretty much makes scale and fur patterns invisible =/).

The reason they did not have fangs its because Bethesda did not add them, while Vampires in Morrowind/Oblivion had fangs.

    Later a mod fixed that.
