Character Name change scroll

I want to change a characters name and no I am not deleting her for main reason, is the fact I put so much work into leveling her up.
I do think its high time for a name change scrolll or something of the sort we can buy.
It should be a simple thing that they can do. Since we don't have character customization yet. I want the ability to change a characters name.
At least once.

Doesn't need to be a scroll, I'd prefer to have it be a "recordkeeping clerk" in your alliance capital who for a small fee (of crowns) will "update the official records" with a new character name...
But yes, yes, yes, please ZOS, give us an option to correct misspellings and less-then-well-enough-thought-out character names!

Well as much as I like to see it an option in game without it being in crownstore. I know its going to be a crown store purchase. Plus they would make loads of money off it, if they released it. Which would not be a smart move if they made it free.
I want to see them add it really soon. No more months later or another year It should be released either before thieves guild or with thieves guild.

I've generally had decent luck getting support to allow me to change a characters name if I asked. But I think all that was before it went b2p, so I doubt they'd be so helpful now. But I remembered being told by a support person to post my support on a forum topic about the possibility of introducing a name changing feature into the game. So this is a topic that's been talked about for quite a long time. Hopefully something like this will be available around the time the barber shop comes out.

I cant see why not/I made one and didnt spell his name right by accident.I didnt notice it until I was ingame,and now cant change it. I'd rather not dump him either.

I've done something like that before. Like I said I managed to get a GM to let me change it. But in the event you mess up a name and don't want to delete ot, it would be great if you could save your character templates so if you decide to delete a character and maybe reroll it, you can use the saved template and not have to recreate it all from scratch. That's something else I'd really like to see, even if the temalate are saved to our computers somewhere in the games folder.

Well I would like to get a Gm to allow me to change my characters name.
But yeah it would be simpler to have it as an option in the crown store, maybe like 450 crowns for name change.

Also Zos i understand that you spoke about the 80 or so systems it takes to do the barber shop you plan on, and that this will incorporate the name change as well, please don't wait for a DLC or major patch to release, just do it when it is ready....like soon please.

Should of been here from the start, big reason why I rarely ever make new characters because during the character creation I can't come up with a name for them.

Yep please, and I'm a console pleb. Apparently we'll be able to show our character names with/rather than our gamertags in the future, so I definitely want to be able to change my character name, even if it was a one-off thing or as you suggested, a purchasable scroll.

I would like this too. I have a character who has an accent mark over a letter in her name. As of one patch, people are no longer able to send private tells in game via the chat window to characters who have letters like that in the name, unless they know the players account name ( I'm pretty sure this still isn't fixed )
She's vet level now, and I'd like to be able to change her name around without having to delete the whole character.

Which is why I would have an in-game option that costs crowns. Best of both worlds...
Or alternately, an in-game NPC where you can change your name by "filing the proper paperwork". Said "proper paperwork" to be purchased in the crown store...

Recustomizing our characters could/should offer this too.

I made a Khajiit character whose name is very close to my friend's Khajiit character... just one letter is different. I thought it was hilrious at first but it turned out to be a disaster for teamspeak as we always get mixed up! For that reason I would really like to change my chars name.
