With the spell resistance passives for light armor, and magic specific damage shields that scale off of magicka such as harness magicka; magicka builds have always been very tanky against elemental and spell damage. With the addition of the resist physical damage champion passive, I fail to see the purpose of using heavy armor anymore. Might as well just go with light armor now and tank while DPSing.
The thieves guild patch is the reason why I'm currntly leveling a MagNB right now and making tweaks to my sorc. I'll keep my DK and StamNB for when the balance of power swings back somewhat. As for my Templer, he's still screwed.
"We have found a cave, but I don't think there are warm fires and friendly faces inside."
I have only touched it, so idk. My only concern was and is the thieves guild, as this patch has not shown via the notes any other major change balance wise worth showing besides some ability tweaks. It will be the same meta as before, get absurd weapon/spell damage and nearly insta kill people, or stack those glorious damage shields as a sorcerer:/ the only difference is that different builds may end up being favored with it

This pretty much sums it up. As Strider_Roshin stated also, light armor tanks are becoming more of a reality than just theory. Heavy armor is still useless outside beyond capping off your health with the minimalist passives. I'm glad Magicka DK's are being shown some much needed love, but Stamina based players (both PvE & PvP) are kind of getting screwed over. Not necessarily with the Physical damage reduction that will be available, but a lack of variation in respects to those new mitigations.
