Skill resets with TG

Since there's a lot of changes coming with the Thieves Guild to both skill and CPs, I'd like to see which way players would find testing out new builds to be the most enjoyable. I've always liked having a complete refund of skill points since I have eight characters. It gets to be expensive if you have multiple alts, especially concerning the 3000 gold for CP refund.

I'd like an option of taking a free skills/cp reset or not. For a week, maybe two weeks you go to the shrine to get skills reset for free. Depending on the changes, some chrs will need a reset, some won't.

They should be refunded, especially after so many changes and tweaks. OP's last 2 options for the poll are interesting, I'd say pointless but I guess it's work in case you want to after a couple days.

I don't see why people bitched and moaned about this with IC update. I have 5 characters and I'd welcome it, I swear, people will just complain about everything.

TG will basically pay for your entire roster reset after a week or two.

The people who *** and moan the loudest probably aren't even going to buy the game pack, so they can go *** themselves when they come back to cry about not getting free resets. The more sensible people have already taken note of what they have and what they want to change, but won't actually change things until they're confirmed in the live patch notes.

I'm 100% all right with Do It Yourself updates.

I really don't understand why anyone would ever want a forced skill point & CP reset instead of a period of time when respecs are basically free - like what they did before.

In the first scenario you get one respec and you have to do it before you even get a chance to play your existing build and decide what still works from it and what you might want to change. And then rather than getting to make the changes, play around with them to decide what works better and what doesn't, and then change again, and keep repeating that process as many times as you want within the cheap period, you're stuck with what you picked (without any game experience to go by) unless you want to spend the full amount for a respec.

It makes absolutely no sense to want a single free forced respec on first login. Go back to the way it was done before: respecs at 1 gold for a week.

I have to say I'm surprised by the results so far. I really thought that an entire respec for one gold would be the popular choice. Maybe I need to clarify it better. Refund every skill point for one gold. Refund every CP for one gold. That option lasts for one week and you can redo it as many times as you want.

If only skill points are reset, I'll be unhappy that's for sure. The changes to CPs are significant enough to warrant at least one free respec. I know my current allocation won't be what I want after TG goes live. Even if I only change CP once on each character, that would be 24,000 gold.

I have to go with this option. Obviously, forced respec didn't work for a lot of people but I sure think we shouldn't have to pay full price when we are going to have to change things around because of major changes ZOS makes.

A bone every once in awhile is nice, ZOS. Doesn't even have to have much meat on it

Since there are skills being altered so completely, like Sea of Flames is now Cauterize and heals rather than damages (but not yourself, really?) we really need a complete cheap or free respec.

One gold for the first week? Sounds good to me. This way we could at least try out all the new stuff before doing a respec every hour for a fortune.

Two weeks is better. Most players have to work or have some other outside life. When resetting and testing eight characters, that could take some time. Why even one gold? Why not free? For that matter, why ever charge gold? It's nothing more than a gold sink anyway. Let players change as much as they want so they can more effectively learn the game and be happy with the results. A happy customer is a return customer

I don't want a reset but perhaps they could have the reset token for each character that expires after so long.
Or the discount gold cost for so long because everyone isn't going to want to reset and really it's morphs for my Templar more so than anything else

Last update we had they said no resets with TG update because roo many people complained with IC release and having to re do their skills on all their characters.

I like the 'respec is basically free but optional' option best. Some people don't CARE if their abilities got tweaked, they just want to jump in and play. Some want the best possible combination to squeeze every point out of their build. This lets everyone do what they like.

@ZOS_GinaBruno I feel to keep both PC and console players happy PC having 6-8 characters it's a lot of gold for skills and CP.

Console player not really keeping track of what skills and passives and having fewer characters a cheap way for all is the best way.

I don't care, so long as I don't have to spend almost all of my money, or have to grind for more just to fix my build up after ZOS breaks it with the balances and changes.

To clarify: I would be happy with free resets on login, or cheap resets for a week, or even soem,thing else, so long as I don't have to waste my time grinding for money to afford it.

Here is what I would like that isn't on the survey....a dev response on what they are actually going to do. I have asked this question on the PTS forums and still have yet to get any response.

Your skills and CP will change whether you buy the DLC or not - it's a game update.

But DIY updates, with a token cost, are the way to go. That way we can see what's in the patch notes, modify accordingly and then have the opportunity to try out changes, rinse and repeat as required.

I wanted to have an option that could encourage people to experiment with new builds, especially since there will be changes. If respecs are free once, I tend to do it once the way I know will work until I come up with something new that's worth the cost. If they were inexpensive for a short period, following a dlc that will gives the game a new boost in activity, it seems like a good time to try something new in a build too. Z did something similar after... Craglorn(?) I think..after a dlc anyway. They had them at half price and it was great, lots of experimentation.

They need to allow for this to be done cheaply if people want it. Some people don't want it at all and people did get extremely mad when points were just refunded without a choice.

So making it a very low cost for a period of time to give the option is the best way.

this poll is not objective. how about you add the option " i dont want a skill refund or a cp refund"

not saying that i would vote for it (although i would consider it), but you gotta give the option to people nevertheless.
learn how to build objective polls instead of forcing your opinion on others through limited voting options.
