Is the friends list purely cosmetic on console now?

Mine hasnt worked since before imperial city launched and is still completely broken. All friends are offline ( or it tells me I have no friends on my list) and is outdated. I've deleted people that are currently appearing on my list and it doesn't show people that I've added since the frinds list stopped working. I haven't seen any mention of fixes being worked on for that. Kinda makes me wonder how you plan on fixing lag if you can't even fix the friends list.

PS4 try restoring licenses. Usually fixes most problems on any game. If xbox has a similar function try that.
I do notice that it'll say people are on/off when they are the opposite but it usually fixes itself with a relog or zone change.0 -

Oliumzen✭✭✭I've found the only friends who show up on my friends list are the ones who are on my XBOX friends list as well. One thing i never really liked about XBONE was that when you add a friend it doesnt send them a friend request it just adds them to your friends list.0 -

And seem to think they don't need to fix it and they also seem to think no one will notice. have they been online at the same time as you at least once? that seems to be what fixed this per friend.PS4 NA
