There's quite a bit in the patch that I like, and I've commented on a bunch of what I like in threads in the PTS section. Because if ZOS doesn't see the feedback about what people do like, they might change those things. Actually, on balance there's very little in the patch that I don't like.
A couple of my favorite things from the patch:
- Assistants. I don't see myself using them very often, but I like them and for the times when I do want to use them rather than go into a town they're pretty damn cool.
- The camel mount. Seeing it in-game, it's really great, and my Redguard will be riding it and getting it to spit on people.
- The changes to the group finder tool. OK, the caveat here is that I haven't actually used the tool on PTS yet - I've just checked out how the UI looks and what the options are. But I love what I see. It's so much freaking better.
- The changes to magicka DKs. I don't want to single out any specific changes that were made here, but overall magicka DKs got made much more viable.
- The style of gameplay in the TG quests. It feels like proper thieving missions. The only thing that would make it better is if there were some where it's a 2-man, 3-man, or 4-man job requiring you to group up and coordinate how you get past guards (with maybe one person distracting while others slip past for example), having one person keep watch while another picks a lock, etc. Maybe there are missions like this that I haven't seen, but I don't think so.
There's other stuff I like too, but those are some of the first things that come to mind.
To be totally transparent, that's based on first impressions only - I haven't done much of the new content. It does initially feel very stealthy-thieving to me though. It feels a bit like what I liked about Thieves Guild missions in previous TES games, but if anything I think it's better in this DLC with more strategic sneaking and figuring stuff out. Again, though, that's really just first impressions based on just having done a little bit of the content.I like that @UrQuan says, there are proper thievery missions, I trust into his gaming experience and so I am looking forward to this, because I like stealth gameplay at lot.

Just so you know (in case you didn't already), the camels actually spit! It's great!dodgehopper_ESO wrote: »There's quite a bit in the patch that I like, and I've commented on a bunch of what I like in threads in the PTS section. @UrQuan I LOVE THAT IDEA!!!
Multiplayer team heists! That sounds really cool depending how it is done.
Oh and honorable mention: CAMELS! I've been wanting a camel in this game since early access. I'm stoked that we can finally have them.

SCT is fantastic, it looks nice. Me being a console player I'm especially happy that this is being added.
So... it's that time again. When everybody is mentioning, complaining and getting upset at the changes they don't like, that a single positivity thread pops up to bring some hope to the ppl
That sounded deep, right?
So how about we use this thread to list the changes we do like about the upcoming changes. I'll start:
Skills:
- Dark Cloak/Shadowy Disguise: I'm really glad that the skill got more fair and balanced without messing up a NB's stealth gameplay (especially MagBladesBig "Thank You", ZOS) while at the same time making both morphs useful. I've always been wanting to use Disguise for it's 100% Crit Chance, especially since now I hot for about 10k on Concealed Weapon
- Thank you for the general fixes to NB skills (Lotus Fan) and passives (Pressure Points)
- Love the buff to Wall of Elements
- Magelight and Meteor Changes: makes IC so much safer and Meteor more useful
Champion Points:
- Really liking the Physical Damage Reduction star in the Champion System (IMagicka
)
- Also Elemental Expert: makes my Destro Staff much better
Classes:
- Love it that Mag DKs got buffed reel gudI'm planning on making one in the future, but I'm not sure on how to name him. Maybe "Dragonspine Tryxus"? How's that sound?
DLC:
- Jackal pet and Camel mounts
- Thieves Guild itself: I love the storylines of the TG in each TES game, and it's always the most fun guild to join as wellHoping for the same thing here (kinda suspecting an "Origin Story" of the TG here, branching out to the other provinces)
- Hew' Bane looks fantastic, judging from the SS and the videos
- New Thieving missions, without making it too easy for a MagBlade like me
Those are the changes I like the most. Plz post the ones you like (and plz keep it
- Also Elemental Expert: makes my Destro Staff much better
Elemental Expert is bugged right now on the pts. You will not see an increase on abilities if you move points over from Thaumaturge.
Well, I would have mentioned the 64-bit client, but the PC version isn't in this patch...Is nobody going to mention the sweet engine / API improvements? No techie love for the technical stuff =(
- x64-bit coming with (hopefully) threading, and memory management improvements
- Renderer API updates: By the sound of it they're actually fully moving to DX11 now, instead of using sub DX10 /w a d3d11 wrapper.
- Also a huge improvement on the OGL side. Going from GL version 2.1 (which was introduced in early 2006 lol), updated to GL 4.1. Which will allow for many improvements in both performance, and quality. Such as greatly improved feature / extension support, (bindless, etc). More info on the many things from 2.1-4.1 here: https://www.opengl.org/wiki/History_of_OpenGL.
- Improved the animation systems, the clipping on models, sound fx, etc, etc.
Nice work, team \o/

- Channeling skills hit through dodge roll, makes sense dodge rolling while i have a beam of death on your and it missing doesn't make sense.
- Physical cp - Was needed.
- Magicka dk changes - No execute but atleast i won't need invasion as a gap closer. Happy with changed overall though dragon blood
- Buff's to some monster helm sets.
- Monster helm set vendor becuase F*** rng. FYI this was both a pve and pvp request.
- Actually like the change to mag det, 15% reduction isn't too much but it can still be used single target but hopefully won't hit for 10k now. Though now it is an actual zerg buster. Too bad everyone going to get it within a day of pvping.
- The cloak make my dot skills happy.
- The fact that all magika dmg is one cp and all physical dmg is one cp is also very good. Helps some classes more than others, though now dk's don't have to bother with 3 types of dmg in their rotation ,sorc can buff their light skills, templars fire dmg gets buffed etc...
Theres more but i can't remember,... I tried to stay positive but some things just really annoy me.
That's true, but I figured this thread was about what was in the patch that just hit PTS, rather than stuff that should be coming when it hits live. That's just my own interpretation, though, I'm not saying your interpretation is wrong, just explaining why I didn't put the 64-bit client in my list of PTS Patch Positivity.Well, I would have mentioned the 64-bit client, but the PC version isn't in this patch...Is nobody going to mention the sweet engine / API improvements? I'm fairly sure it's not in this PTS revision. But (?) it should be in the patch by the time it actually goes live.
Because... umm... I don't know, I've got nothing.I've literally no idea why they'd prioritize ... mac first lol. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on mac, but....c'mon, really? xD.
Mac? gaming? what?.jk....kind of
