Possible to play with 1 hand (console)

next week will have surgery on my hand(left) and will only have one hand my right one would it be possible to play with just the one hand using the other for movements like backwards forwards ect. I was originally going to use next week for grinding in ic. But with this turn of events idk if I can manage. Has anyone managed with something similar to this happening to them or is it going to be impossible to pvp and stick with pve for that week haha.

It's not impossible but would take more than a week to master tbh Will you have movement in your index finger and/or thumb?

uhm probably limited its in the center of my palm. last time they cut in it was just a tad and couldn't move my fingers and my thumb only a little. this time they will be going deeper and knocking me out last time I was awake and the numbing stuff didn't work so it was fun. haha @Cazzy

ill prob use part of my hand to push around the left joystick but blocking will not be an option haha

if its only movement (with the foot), you can master that in a few hours.

Just wash your foot first.... or not. It's your stuff anyway so... just don't invite me over to play afterwards if you don't.

Oooh ouch I tend to keep dosed up on painkillers and prop my arm up on something so my hand is relatively relaxed. A box with a cushion on it, a small table, arm rest etc. I'd probably advise avoiding PvP if you can help it. At least until you recover a bit more

@Volkodav do you have any tips?

this is actually kinda awesome haha didn't even think of foot and ofc id wash it before I used it on my controllers @Spacemonkey lol. plus I have spares for anyone who wants to play on my console haha.

but I need my vet 16 gear and losing a week of ic will postpone it so much

You could always map the keys on your controller differently so that you could use block with your right hand. I'm on PS4 so I don't even know what the controls are on Xbox, but I am assuming you can do this. I would probably change the jump or menu button to be block instead.

Get a thick sponge pad for under your elbow.It helped for me. Or a good Jell pad.

Please,be very careful.You have more courage than I do.I wouldnt allow them to cut on my left hand.Really,if they accidentally messed it up,I wouldnt know how to live.I am so left handed that I cant even reign my horse with the other hand. I am left handed,hence I think with the right side of my brain,born that way. If I had to think with the left side of my brain for the rest of my life,..oh no.No,no. I cant even conceive what a left minded person's think processes would be! XD

see I am right handed but I use both hands evenly at work. the first time they cut my hand to see what they were going to do I had a hard time doing my job it slowed me down tremendously I was like nuuuuu I need my left hand gah take the foot vs my hand please haha. @Volkodav

but it had to be my hand with an injury not my leg/foot haha but that's the rng of life I guess haha

Maybe you can try alternative input devices like joystick and pedals.

@Gidorick my crafter is still low level maybe I can also do this once my hand becomes to pained to walk just using the other to walk and pick up materials for crafting or something thank you for the input

It should be possible theoretically. It is a matter of key-binding I suppose.
You can try the devices and if they don't work for you then return them to the store.
