Not sure where the propaganda was born, but I have been playing mostly every day for over a year now and I am sitting at Champion Rank 380-ish or so. I typically give the game at least an hour a day for the daily maintenance (writs and 2x pledges) and maybe 5 days a week I am spending multiple hours in Cyrodiil.

I am not part of the 80% player base sitting at 501+ champion points, and I honestly don't think nearly that percentage of players are. So in regard to the champion point increase, in my bias opinion I think it is fair. I am really curious what players did to hit high levels of champion points because there are have been weekends where I pulled 7 hour shifts of ESO only getting maybe 4-5 Champion Points grinding in IC. I know there were "bugs" with some trials spawning trash with unusually high exp gains, so perhaps those of you took advantage of this are living in a different paradigm than the rest of us. I give this game plenty of play time, so I would consider myself a little above the average...and I am absolutely not at 501 CPs.

I stopped playing when vr12 was cap until just recently. At the time I had completed tamriel hero and done everything except the trials. All dolmens, wb's etc. When I came back I had been allotted 18 cp's in each category. I feel that had I waited to complete all the gold and silver content until cp's were introduced I would have gained alot more. I have been playing pretty heavily for the past month or so now and up to 74 cp's per category. The gain is pretty slow and other than grind mobs I typically get. 2 or 3 a night just doing dungeons or working on vMA or farming motifs in old orsinium. I don't worry too much about cp's and just let them come as I play the game.

For those that played uninterrupted since launch and have multiple vr16 alts I feel that it would be easy to be at cp cap, but its definitely slow going to gain them. I'm actually looking forward to my alt hitting vr so he can contribute to cp gain and still have lots of content to do.

I'm at 536 CP currently, and I PVP for 2-3 hours a day and, sometimes, do pledges. Prior to hitting the cap, I could still gain 1-2 CP daily. So, over a year, that would put me well above the cap (where I am now, actually). Some days I got more, other days I got less.

Have alts. When you hit VR16 you hit an XP wall, and gaining XP rewards start to diminish quite a bit as there's little to no real end game content. Getting a second or third character to VR16 nets an incredible amount of XP. For example, I did the basic pledge last night on a new character. With enlightenment, between doing the quest the first time and between the Undaunted Daily reward, I got over 200K Enlighted XP for what amounted to about 30 minutes of my time. At lower CP that would grant you a CP point right away due to the sliding scale, or at least gain you more than half the experience needed to push you to that next point.

VR Questing and other first time activities (e.g. vet dolmens) can net you quite a bit of XP. It's not going to push you right to the top, but that new character can definitely accelerate your CP gains.

That's what I thought. There's absolutely no way that 80% of the player base is at the cap. I'm fairly close to the cap myself (I think I'm at about 430 or so), and I suspect that I'm higher than most of the people playing the game.

I agree with your statement, but I saw a couple comments in game and on these forums, including that post that was deleted that said 80% were already at the cap and it needed to be higher.

I have been playing since console launch and have 400 CP. I probably average about 4 hours per day, with about an hour of that going to training horses, writs, and crafting. I consider myself a regular player, but log less time than most regular players out there. When you look at the 80% that AREN'T at 501, you need to keep in mind that casual players are factored into that. ZOS should not be catering the game to casual players, they should be focusing on the regular players that play multiple hours every single day.

I am not at the cap, and there's no way I should be based on how much I play, but I think ZOS is making a huge mistake by keeping the cap at 501. I bet if you took a poll of all ESO+ subscribers, you would probably find that 80% of them are already at the cap. Unfortunately ZOS looks at the population as a whole and doesn't understand who is going to keep this game alive.

I've been playing since PC launch with a few week or two breaks scattered around. Never really grinding much just questing / dungeons / PvP. I've done silver and gold four times over (once before the champion system was implemented). I generally earn about 1-2 CP a day depending on what I'm doing. I'm at 478 and am on track to hit the cap right before the release of TG, and will likely stay at the cap indefinitely after that if they go ahead with the quarterly 51-point increase.

I don't really have an issue with the proposed quarterly 51-point increase, it seems like something around 90 would track closer with enlightenment so I assume it was set low in an attempt to get more people close to the cap over time. I also won't mind playing after hitting the cap, the way I see it it's like continuing to play at v14 before the champion system was introduced except you get to keep accruing XP past the cap (kinda like they promised would happen with XP earned past v14 when the champion system was introduced).

I'd say that you have your numbers reversed 20% near or at cap and 80% absolutely not (with a large portion of that on the lower end).

I don't think there are all that many people at CP cap. 20% maybe, but 80% just seems ridiculously large. Certainly, much less than 80% of my end-game guild members are at CP cap. I'm sitting at 440-450-ish now.

I still think it'd be nice if the cap goes up by at least 50. There are about 1 quarter period between this and next DLC and I know of quite a lot of people who are at 400+ CPs now. Before DB hits, these folks are very likely to be at CP cap.

There are new players signing up everyday in the game playing for the first time with zero CP and Many verteran players leaving everyday that may would have been capped but no longer play currently. Also anybody that knows MMOs knows that there are way more casual players than hardcore and most players dont ever write on forums. Also console players have been playing way less time. I would suspect the people that are at cap is at an extremely low percentage.

80% at 501 CP? Really? This number has to be PC and PC-to-console transfers only. There is no way that number is accurate for console players. I do not know anyone that did not transfer from PC and has maxed CP.

Interestingly, the higher the cap, the faster will these players gain the first 300 CPs, which are probably the most important, as it makes your character a lot more flexible.
