Why I love RNG

because I personally believe that it gives us a reason to re-run content. No matter how painful or annoying it is.

But RNG sucks! I always get Well-Fitted or Reinforced! — Just keep re-running man you'll get that Infused/Divines eventually.

Token systems are okay but if we are just given what we want (with or without the trait we want) then we'd be out of content to do.
  • We get the set(s) / monster set(s) we wanted
  • "So, bored what to do? Oh! PvP!"
  • Clutter into Campaigns
  • "omfg what is this lag? Fix PvP!"
Then apply that to thousands of players...

If they just added group bind for helms I'd be happy. You realuse there is a statistical chance you may never get the helmet you're trying for, right? The RNG I'd atrocious. Just give us group bind and everyone will see that the RNG problem will disappear.

    It's not just well-fitted/reinforced/infused/divines, it's:

    -dropping something at all
    -dropping the right set
-droping the right set piece (imagine the chance if you already have 4 or 5 and that nobody wants shoulders or helmets)
    -dropping the right trait

You are able to create clever RNG systems, but the curent RNG, I call utter *** from hell.

I run instances right now not for loot or for loot just as a side aspect. My true motivation is to complete achievements even for my 3rd and 4th V16er.

The answer to content is not to fill the boss loot tables with worthless items

a)rework the bad traits to something useful (they're already planning this)
b)they are adding a RNG bag to running random dungeons. Hopefully there will be a chance at mounts, pets, costumes, etc to keep players running.
    c) the exp and decon items are decent for players who don't like to spend hours a day killing wolves

    What they should consider adding
    a) Boss drops that can be used in crafted items for "enchanted" bonuses
    b) Rare 1 time use "schematics" or motifs
    c) Trophy items for incoming player housing

Agree rng sicks but as of right now without it no one would be running dungeons pledges etc. even though it is a poor answer to a real problem. This game as of right now lacks end game content currently 0 trials 1dungeon that is somewhat difficult and that's because of some wonky synergy mechanic and PvP where it at this point is whoever stacks the most people together wins. With atleast this terrible rng it gives us some type of motivation to run dungeons even though it's kind of counter productive

It's not that it is rng. It's the stupid Bind on pickup. I would much rather buy the set I want, and the Person can profit from it. But no, I need to farm a certain set for 2 month to get the perfect set. I'm still trying to get the vr 16 purple arcane parish, but rng is giving me crap. At this point, I don't even care if it's blue or vr 15. I just want the set...

RNG is the poor man(developer) way of making content replayable over and over. It doesn't make it fun and a good portion of player base leave after invested time equals poor reward.

ZOS is new to the MMO world. ESO would have been perfect 10 years ago. Unfortunately they need to catch up to the times.

Yeah... Some people here have job and families, mr Smartypants, and 0,0001% drop chance means that some people will never get the sets/weapons.
I personally did a ton of vWGT runs, have all achievements and yet to get spell cure set, even with well-fitted. I'm not saying I'm entitled to get gear without any effort, but it should be obtainable in reasonable timeframe. Almost half of year is far from reasonable.

Its a crap system you know how many pledges I have completed and still not 1 single helm just shoulders and even there starting to become few and far between. I hate this system the monster set vendor needs to hurry up because the thought of doing even 1 more pledge makes me feel sick.

Using poor drop rates as a reason to keep content alive is atrocious.. it's like if you went to work but you're pay was based on a lottery today you make 35 cents an hour bud sorry for you're luck.

RNG is certainly a reliable way to ensure people re-run content. Also, rat poison is a reliable way to cure the flu.

    Ultimately, both are self defeating.

A good token system that lets players collect items from dungeons or trials with guaranteed drops would encourage playing because you know in advance how long it will take you to get what you want. If you're motivated enough you will push through until you have your set(s).

RNG discourages playing the game for anyone but hardcore farmers.
Edit: I dare say even frequent players are already more than fed up with the RNG in ESO.

    Its as simple as that.

if you grind the dungeons you will eventualy drop it , it make the game longer if you would grind for tokens people would just go for the easiest dungeon possible grinding it on vet 1 for tokens .You can be lucky and get it on the first try or it can take up to about 20-25 run in order to get in the worst case senario since you get at least 6.50 % chance to drop the helm everyrun.

I used to play game where the drop rate of certain items were 0.001 % chance to drop... please do not QQ .

Iv run maelstrom arena 100+ and still didn't 1 single fire destro staff at least i will feel like i deserved it when i do get it if i ever get it.

To me RNG is a way to falsely extend gameplay. I play games for the narrative aspect of them. Content is good once for me... if it's fun enough I'll run it more. I very VERY rarely play something I don't want to in order to get a shiny. They can keep their shiny. My FPS (Fun Per Second) is WAY more valuable to me than some trinket ZOS will just make useless in the next DLC update.

Don't play MMO's then or if you want token system go to WOW.This is one of the main reason why they lost all their player the game became so easy it's not even fun anymore.

Or else you could play single player games get it done with and then change game over and over again.

Every MMO has an RNG factor even single player RPG's.

Sure give everything to everyone super easly will make sure that they keep their player...
Just play the game and you will get what you want if you don't want to invest time in a game to get the best gear for your type of character if not then just craft your gears instead that's what crafting is for an alternative way to get geared up.

Oh yea, that's REALLY productive "Don't play MMOs then"... get real. My $1 spend is JUST as valuable as YOUR $1 spent...

I'll say the same thing about RNG in single player games too... and achievements. It's an easy way to get players playing your game longer without exerting much additional effort. Falsification of gameplay. Some find these things add to their fun. For me, it usually doesn't.

Lol, you serious? You have to be trolling at this point. If YOU think that rng is a good system, then I dare you to farm every single sets with every single traits, all of them being purple v16.

Rng is just a false way to create difficulty and the best way to put patting in a game. rng would be much more tolerable if the set were to be bind on equip. I mean come on, even the agilty/willpower ect, sets are bind on equip. No excuse.
