Is it possible they could delay announcing the winner if the winner fails to contact them straight away? Lets say they received an email or a phone call already, but they missed it. So now they have to wait until they can actually contact this person.

5. PRIZE CLAIM CONDITIONS
Sponsor will attempt to notify each selected entrant via email within approximately forty-eight (48) hours of the Draw Date at the email account provided by the entrant in his or her The Elder Scrolls ® Online account if that was the means of entry or provided on the Mail-In Entry form if that was the means of entry.

In order to be declared a prize winner, each selected entrant must:

(iv)If entrant is a resident of Canada: correctly answer without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered at a mutually convenient time in person or by telephone.

Sponsor will attempt to notify each selected entrant a maximum of two times. If selected entrant does not respond within three (3) calendar days of first attempt by Sponsor or Sponsor's agent, Sponsor will make a second and final attempt to notify the selected entrant. Return of any prize or winner notification as undeliverable, inability to reach selected entrant or failure of selected entrant to respond to notification within three (3) calendar days of second attempt by Sponsor or Sponsor's agent, failure to provide proof of eligibility (if requested), Release documents, Tax Documentation or other required documentation in a timely manner, failure to correctly answer the skill-testing question (as applicable), or other non-compliance with these Official Sweepstakes Rules may result in disqualification, forfeiture of the prize and, at Sponsor's sole discretion, selection of an alternate eligible entrant for the forfeited prize at random from all remaining eligible Entries received, who will be subject to disqualification in the same manner.


There's about a 48 hour wait period built into the notification. So you could be notified as late as Wednesday. After you're notified the first time, they'll wait three days before sending another notification. So you have a total of six calendar days and two notifications until you're disqualified.

In addition to the qualifications and notifications stuff posted above, we have to remember that it is not ZOS (ZeniMax Online Studios) that is running the promotion. The "Sponsor" is Bethesda Softworks LLC. They will release information on this through Bethesda.Net first. It will be repeated here by one of the CMs, but maybe not immediately. It probably depends on how busy the CMs are at the time.

I suppose it's also possible they realized that they really alienated a LARGE portion of the player base by running a contest that over half their players were EXCLUDED from with no cool alternate prizes that ALL of the community could have hoped to win. The marketing fail hasn't been in their failure to announce the winner with big fanfare. The marketing fail was the cheesy and exclusive nature of the promotion in the first place.

Did any of you read the terms? They will Email the person who won. This could be a person who rarely checks their email for all we know. They also gave the winner a couple weeks or something to check before they redraw.on top of all that I doubt they will ever announce who won the money.

The real question is how many of you won the crowns?

With ZOS' track record, you can't exactly blame people for jumping to the last conclusion. I mean, just take a look at one of their recent patch attempts. They managed to break overload (a sorcerer's ultimate) by attempting to fix a bug associated with dodge rolling. They're not even remotely related. How they managed to screw that one up is beyond me.

The dodge rolling exploit was related to bar swapping while dodge rolling, not dodge rolling itself. Activating Overload does a bar swap. So the code added to bar swap to block the dodge roll exploit had an unintended affect on the bar swap that happens when you activate Overload. So while it is not obviously related, they are related via bar swap.

This is how the sweepstakes works.
The Drawing was on the 1st. All drawings need to be verified for legality then the "winners" are notified within 48 hours (by 1pm est tomorrow) .
The grand prize "winner" has a litany of paperwork to do to file for their claim which they have a few days to take care of before going through a full legal review. Is the "winner" of age? Does this person live in a qualifying area? Do they owe the IRS a large sum of money? Are there any legal precedence for with holding or otherwise refusing the claim to the prize? Did they fill out all tax forms properly and legally?
After all of the legal work is done which can take a few weeks the winner can be declared and notified that they did in fact win the prize.
